    Teripets is back?

I was one of the staff on teripets and I was wondering if anyone had any further information on it coming back online?

    Teripets
None of the previous staff had heard anything about it and the only reason a handful of us know is because one of the old users contacted us about it.

    Thank you.

Edit, information in regards to Teripets coming back. http://www.virtualpetlist.com/showth...l=1#post134767

    Just heard back from Teripets.
    Hello Carlos,

Sorry for the late reply. Originally myself and Al took on TeriPets with an aim to fix known bugs and add some new content before re-opening the site to the public. Although we still plan on re-opening the site we have decided to put it on hold for now due to a heavy work commitment. We will resume work on it once we have more time to really do a great job with what we have planned, and we'll announce a new release date then. Thanks for taking interest and we're sorry about the inconvenience for now.

    Kind Regards,
    James

    Also update on the accounts:
    Hi Carlos,

Yes there is around 100,000 users in the database and all accounts will still be available once we re-launch.

    Kind Regards,
    James
Now, what are your thoughts based around the emails?

Teripets was sold before it went down. Or at least that's what the previous owner said.

I assume the sell finally went through or the new owner(s) decided to start on their new site.

I hope you guys are contacted again, though! From what I know, you were loyal to the users and the site right up to the end.

Very, very interesting first statement - thank you for the prompt response.

It would be much appreciated if we were contacted - we weren't happy with what had happened nor with the fact we had to let it go. : (

    Re: Teripets is back?

Sorry, but I'm about to just dump a huge text wall on you guys; just a rambling sort of mess on my speculations:

Last I heard, Chris's asking price was OUTRAGEOUS. And people were REALLY upset when it was still up that it was rumored he was CONSIDERING letting a 13-year-old purchase the site So I see why people were upset even more over that. Heck. Even *I* messaged Chris asking what his price was... but the site went down before he ever got it. I wonder if this person has staff lined up, because the old staff has been disbanded for more than a year now (even though some are on DLP, myself included!) and I wonder if accounts will still be intact!
I just hope the new artists they get, won't ruin the art style. Teri's art style was unique. I have mixed feelings about this. I am glad teri will be back, but... at the same time, I was finally moved on. That was kinda my internet home for about 6 years. It's kind-of like quitting smoking and eventually getting over it, and then suddenly finding out that smoking has no health risks anymore or something. It's like, wows, I just got over missing it, and now it's back, and now the new owner could potentially ruin it or potentially make it BETTER. but... either way, it won't be the same. So I dunno... is it really Teri without the same people? The Teri community and staff were the best; we were like family.
    *sigh*
Yeah, I know, I'm a bit emotional about my favorite site, but can you blame me? I spent many many many hours there and for them, (even made the site layout for that one contest) loving the people, the art and the site as a whole, no matter how incomplete it stayed. I hope the new owner is a former long-time player of Teripets. I would feel a lot better about that.

    @Martyn;
Would be much obliged if you could find anything out any details at all.

Essentially what Hya said sums up my feelings - feeling fairly torn on the state of affairs.

I hope we get to keep our accounts. I worked hard for my pets.

Currently on Hiatus, real life concerns.
@ me when a new site opens, please.

Joined to follow this thread. I actually found out about the reopening by accidentally going to the domain, and oh boy what a surprise.

I'm with Hyacinth. Near the end I honestly wanted Teri to stop lingering and just die so everyone could move on despite loving the site to bits. Out of all the pet sites I ever played, something about Teri just clicked with me. Part of me is excited to see what will be brought to the table, the other is begging me to run away and never look back.

Just got an email back from Teripets' new owner about the accounts issue:
    Hello Cpvr,

Unfortunately the previous owner of the site didn’t backup Teripets before taking it down in Oct/Nov last year, however a backup was made in August and all of the accounts, pets and data from the launch of TeriPets until August 2011 is safe and will be available again once we open.

    Kind Regards,
    James

All I know is that they have some bugs to fix and some other things. James[the owner] said he'll be posting some information here as soon as Teripets is closer to entering beta.
