@Neon aww you are so kind T_T Thank you very much, it really does mean a lot to me. Right now I'm taking two different graphic design classes: AAD 75 (Introduction to Digital Art and Design) and AAD 70 (Introduction to Digital Imaging.) Pretty basic photoshop/illustrator/indesign classes... but they force me to do things I wouldn't normally do. I'm also taking a web design class and in the past I've taken Graphic Computer Illustration and some other things... though I already know a lot about the programs I have picked up quite a bit from them.

Also, today I made this prototype necklace design:



If anyone can guess who this is without looking at the filename I will has happy. The actual thing will be a much more vibrant red and won't be nearly as... wobbly because the lines will be much thicker. It /should/ turn out better than this one but I couldn't just throw it away!

What material are you making the necklace out of for the prototype and the final product?

@Lilly3 The prototype is just a bit of clear #6 plastic cut out from a take-out box's underside, covered in red sharpie then stuck in the oven at 275 degrees Fahrenheit until it shrinks. #6 plastic is what they make "shrinky dinks" or craft-type shrink plastic out of. The actual thing will be made of the same kind of plastic but it's designed specifically for crafting so it's less vulnerable to warping and also comes in red, making using sharpie/sealing it unnecessary.

The idea is to emulate the look of laser-cut acrylics without actually having to own the machine or mass-order them. Shrink plastic can also be fused together so I might make some "stacked" designs. I'm debating stacking yellow on top of the red for the earpieces and boomerang but I really like the look of it just plain... I'll probably experiment with it with some more take-out box plastic xD
