Which shading style?

I'd like to know your opinion on which shading style you prefer and why.
Since they have a different feel to them so...

Please note that the colours used in the shading of the of the left one isn't permanent; they won't all be purple/pink.

The markings here is really simple because I was using it as an example to show my friends and get their opinion on it.
Buuut, I decided to spread out a little and ask you guys too.

Also, for the shading on the right, it was done really fast (so has some mistakes and sloppiness) but basically shows what it will look like.

In this case, the cell shading, as it seems to suit the style more. However, a little more blending at the edges would probably make the right look nicer? Basically soft edges.

I prefer the one on the left personally. It's just more visually appealing to me. However, in terms on demand, the style on the right seems to fit the bill. It depends on what the purpose of the style is for. I think the style on the right would get more attention, but I personally like the left. Hope this helps!

The first one, that style of shading is really growing to me.

I prefer the first style, but the second is a lot cleaner and looks more like fur. Specifically I think the face / chest area is much better on the first version, but the hindquarters are not as good, because there is no real suggestion of the shape of the fur on the body. I'd go for someone more like the first but with some firmer edges to indicate fur / texture.

Combination of both is what I'd prefer. Seems more dynamic. Here the cell layer is on top set to multiply. If you don't like both then I'd go cell. Soft is too gentle on its own imo.

I like the soft shading (Second one) better then the first. To me, it just looks better

I'm really fond of what Drea did! I personally prefer the bold colors on the first one, as I think the second's shading is a bit plain, and lacks a sense of life to it. It also has less depth to it than the first - the rendering of form and 3-dimensions is much stronger and more apparent to me in the first image.
I would experiment with a combination of cell shading and soft shading, as I think it would work well on images like yours.

I think you have it confused. xD; The first one is soft shading, the second is cel shading.
