Cat Flap: Dead Pet Turned Into Helicopter

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by Rj, Jun 4, 2012.

  1. An artist has turned his cat into a flying helicopter after it was killed by a car.
Dutchman Bart Jansen stuffed Orville before teaming up with a radio control helicopter expert to attach propellers to each of its four paws.

    And his new toy?

  5. It's... kind of creepy... >_> Maybe he shoulda used a stuffed animal (fake!) or something?

There was a news special last week (I think there's a tv show on it too) about a taxidermist who preserves people's pets. I think it's kind of... spooky? I wouldn't want to do that to my babies (my dogs), I would rather let them rest in peace and move on. I couldn't bear to look at them every day with their beady eyes. Plus just thinking about gutting them out and everything... <//////3 *shivers*

    No thanks x.x
  6. I think this is crazy. Why? Because I believe the dead should be buried, and/or cremated, but I'd admit the idea is pretty cool.
  7. I'm slightly uncomfortable with this. :B
  8. that is sooo sick. makes F%$@ing mad :( just so not right *sigh*
  9. In a way, it's kinda hilarious and a pretty cool idea.
    Besides... In my opinion, if you're dead, you definitely don't need your body anymore. >_>;
That's what I thought when I sighed a form to allow the doctors to take and use anything or everything from my body if I happen to die in the near future. lulz Maybe I just giggle at the face of death, but it's not like this cat's gonna haunt his owner for turning him into a helicopter.
  10. Unique idea. I don't see it as being distasteful or disrespectful, as I don't really see the difference between this and having an animal stuffed and mounted. So what if it happens to be attached to helicopters rather than the wall? It could be argued that since it was his pet it has some other sort of meaning to him but if this is how he wants to remember it, I don't see how it is hurting or disgracing the animal... there are so many other things that we do to animals, while they are still alive, even, that just seem so much more harmful, damaging, and disrespectful to the fact that they are living things. But once it's dead, it's dead. Our bodies are just vessels to hold our spirits. Unless you're a robot.

The only thing I really find to be distasteful is the type of comments on the yahoo website.

... I do find it to be a rather unusual way to remember a beloved pet, though.

  11. This is both parts funny and disgusting. Give that cat a proper burial for goodness sake, but hey no one has thought of a dead flying cat before!
  12. Love sometimes is weird, very weird.
  13. I definitely see this as being distasteful. >_<
This is a dead body used as a toy...

    It's just stupid.
  14. @LionLion I saw and read this when I was changing emails on Yahoo! last night, I considered posting it here but then decided not to because its 3 levels of wrong!
