    Virtual Pets

Welcome to the Virtual Pet list forum!
We're a virtual pets and sim games community and the largest forum in our industry. Game owners can use our forum to their advatange by promoting/advertising their games to our users and receive feedback/reviews from those members that try their games out. We support developers of all kinds from RPG developers, sim game developers to virtual pet site developers. We want to see more games in our industry come across more success and that's why we try our best to release as many guides/articles regarding online gaming development as we can.
We're unlike other forums in our industry because we try our best to be there for our users no matter what and give them advice whenever they ask for it. Running an online game isn't an easy task, but with our many resources that we've built since 2011, you'll learn a lot from our online community. Please don't ever be afraid to ask a question on the forums because if you never ask, then you'll never receive an answer to your question and you can only improve by asking other users for help/advice.
We have a lot of virtual pet sites' owners and sim game owners that are very frequent visitors on our online community. Along with artists, writers and programmers that come here looking for work and games to work for. Our members who are artists sell art in our art marketplace and programmers are allowed to sell their scripts in the programming marketplace. We also allow game owners to sell their game in our general marketplace
In early 2011, we decided to make a comeback to the internet because in 2010, we had a minor setback and we had to re-launch without any content, but with a lot of time, patience, hardwork and effort, we've managed to rebuild the Virtual pet list community into something better than it was before. We actually registered our domain name on November 4th, 2004, but we were only a directory then and all we had was a basic comments system for users to post things on their favorite games..
So, what are you waiting for, why don't you join today? If you have any problems figuring out our security code, then here's a hint, it has millions upon users and has been around since 1997.
Our list of virtual pet sites and directory of sim games have a lot of different games listed, so we're pretty sure that you may find some games that suits your needs as a player of sim games or virtual pet sites.
If you're still curious about a certain game that you'd like to play, then please check out some of our game reviews that were written by some of our great contributors and our interviews with respective virtual pet site owners, sim game owners, artists, writers and programmers that have worked in this industry.

When I was younger, I used to be a country type of gal. Now I'm older, I like the suburbs. I always wondered how I would do in the city, though.

How about you all? Are you a city or a country person?

I love the city. I've never stayed in the country side, but my grandparents do, so its always nice to get away sometimes. I remember when I moved to Texas from MA, all my friends there were like "Have fun riding the horses..." I've yet to ride one and don't plan on it.

born and raised in the city - not too big but very much the city life.
now i live next to a rural community and our backyard is large enough to keep a small horse. I definitely miss the city but I wouldn't leave the country!

Born and raised in the country, lived in a city during my study and now I'm living in the suburbs. I prefer the latter. It has all the good things of living in a city (like having shops closeby) but it's not that noisy and crowded and it has some more space/parks etc.

Do you know anyone that runs a farm or anything? I heard that was good money for some people.

Yup, my stepdad runs a farm. But the good money is only available for the big farms with 800+ cows and such. A farm with between 40 and a hundred cows isn't making much of a profit. So unless you have a big sack filled with money and can afford to run a huge farm, there's no money making in it. At least not in the Netherlands.

Damn, how much does it cost to feed 40 cows goes though? Does he also have chickens and other animals?

It's not so much the feeding, it's all the regulations and rules he has to obey. First off you need to buy a milk quota to be allowed to produce milk. Then you have to get a permit to deliver the milk to the factory. You have to deliver the amount set in the quota. If you over deliver or under deliver, you have to pay a fine. Then there is the quality of the milk which has to be of a certain standard. Cows that are getting eg. some penciline for diseases are forbidden to have their milk mixed with the milk of the rest of the cows, same goes for cows who've just delivered babies, their milk isn't wanted as well. Then there is the food which too has to be of certain quality and will be checked. Then there is the standard food. And let's not forget the bills for the vet. Oh and how many square acres you need to have per cow. Going over that limit and you either have to purchase more ground or you have to reduce your stock. And then there are some more rules as to how to deal with the dung, how to housevest the stock, and so on and so on. On an average with just 40 cows you spend about half a million a year just for the costs. Try to get that money back with the low milk- and meat prices and you'll understand why it's such a crappy business to be in. ;)

We used to have pigs as well, but luckily got rid of them right before the mouth and claw disease hit Holland. So we were lucky with that, otherwise it would've been a major disaster, with the market falling down big time and lots of more safety and health regulations.

@Nebula Those costs are so high. Thanks for sharing this information with us. I can't believe it was that high though. No wonder why a lot of people leave the farming industry.

Born and raised in the city here. XD If it wasn't for my allergies I would definitely give country life a go. I have some relatives in the country side and I'm planning to go this summer for a week or so.

I'm also born and raised in a large city, so that's what I prefer. I've got friends that live in a town outside the city, and I love to visit them (since they live in houses, have gardens and live close to lakes and larger forests). I currently live in an apartment complex about 10 minutes away from the city center with tram, and the area I live in has a few houses and small forests (so it's a bit like the town some of my friends live in, but a lot closer to the city) - and I find it to be pretty perfect. The air feels a bit cleaner here than it does in the city center too, and that's a plus.

What type of allergies do you have? I'm allergic to Mold and dust. My fan in my room was covered in dust and my mom cleaned it out. Now my nose isn't so stuffy and I'm not sneezing so much.

I was born and raised in a quite boring suburb, but spent my summers in Chinatown and NYC with my grandparents. I grew used to the city and prefer it there.

What happens when you get close to those things? I know dust is so annoying it clogs up my nose and makes me sneeze a lot.

Another thing that I've grown to love about the city is that there's usually something to do at all times, but in the country, you don't have a whole lot of clubs to go to or anything. And in the city a lot of people stay up all night and crash during the day. The city life is nice, I love going out there and hanging out with my friends when I can.

Meh, I know how you feel. When my fan was full of dust, I kept sneezing non-stop, I had to get it cleaned up. I hate dust!

I grew up in the city - well, no, it's supposed to be the greener part, but since it's so compact here I can only call it a city. So I think I'm more of a city person - more to do, even though the pace of life is a bit hectic. And I completely sympathize with the dust problem - I can't stop sneezing sometimes either!

I was born and raised in the country, haha. I don't think I could live anywhere else. I live in a city apartment now and I feel as if I'm going stir crazy, not to mention there's a ton of crime in this city.
