How light/heavy of a sleeper are you?

Discussion in 'Health' started by cpvr, Jun 17, 2012.

  1. When I sleep, its pretty hard to wake me up, so thus, I consider myself as a heavy sleeper.

So, are you a light sleeper? Are you easily awoke? Or are you a heavy sleeper?

  2. I can call myself a heavy sleeper. But some light shaking on my ankle will wake me up.
No worries, I won't tear your liver out for waking me up. xD

I usually get REALLY pissed if someone wakes me up from an afternoon nap.
  3. I'm a heavy sleeper I guess. I woke up once to find my bed completely messed up (covers coming out, pillows on the floor) and that I've woken up in the other end of my bed. To this day I still don't know what happened.

Like jak, I do get very angry when someone wakes me up from my siesta, whether I'm in class or not. Even my boyfriend isn't safe. I just get very cranky :p

I also find it more comforting to wake up to an alarm clock more than by someone else, particularly in the morning. I guess it's because I can bash my alarm clock once it wakes me up.
  4. I'm a light sleeper. Being a parent, all your sleep goes out the window! Chelsea makes one noise and I'm up to see if she's ok!
  5. I'm a light sleeper. Always have been.

I get startled easily if you touch me, poke me or simply standing there and do nothing in front of me and that will trigger my anxiety related to the abuse I have been through for years. The best way to make me startled little less is to put hand on my back and rub gently to wake me up that way it won't trigger my anxiety.
  6. [SUB]I wake up at the slightest noise now,
I used to be like a bear. XD
I mean, when I was 10 or 11 my mom would have to shake me and my bed just to get me up.
But now if someone like puts something down in my room or something I'll get startled.
  7. I used to be able to sleep through my girlfriend's alarm in the morning, but its quite hard sometimes. My seroquel, and trazodone, ativan as well help me get a good night's sleep everyday, so I'm grateful for that.

I remember one time I slept 14 hours straight!
  8. [SUB]
    Oh my gosh, 14 hours?
    That's really long XDD[/SUB]
  9. Ya, my mom was worried that I died or something so she had my girlfriend call me and check up on me. I was up after that lol. I don't know why I so tired that day, it hasn't happened since then.
  10. I am a pretty light sleeper, I absolutely hate it sometimes but most times its all good.
  11. I think I'm a heavy sleeper. The only times I've woken up in the night is 1. my body wakes me up cause its about to vomit. 2. that earthquake that happened during the night years ago.
  12. i think im fairly balanced:) i dont wake up if someones snoring or rolling over (if im staying at a friends place or something), or if someones cleaning in the other room or something, but if my cat is scratching my door to get in, ill always wake instantly....
only issue with that is... i get used to my alarm, and in my sleep, ill get up, turn it off, and go back to bed.. haha
so i have to periodically change my alarm and put my phone in weird spots so asleep me has to go looking haha
  13. So, if someone wakes you up earlier than you wanted to - what is your usually reaction?

  14. I'm usually cranky. I don't respond well. I complain, I ask for five more minutes, or I completely ignore them and try to go back to sleep.
  15. Ya, its tough for me to get up in the morning as well which is why everyone knows not to call nor text my phone early in the morning. XD But some do it at night and if I hear a call, I just click the ignore button.
  16. I try to keep my phone on vibrate.. If someone calls me and wakes me up in the middle of the night, it better be important!
  17. I only turn my phone on silent if people are blowing me up and I don't want to be bothered. I get facebook alerts and twitter alerts on my phone, but they're not loud enough to wake me up. I can't stand when people call me past 10 PM to do something for them. I don't feel that comfortable doing favors that late at night. I'd rather just spend time with my girl - watch movies, TV, and relax.
  18. I'm a very heavy sleeper lately, unfortunately. Sometimes I've slept for ten hours. However, in the past I was unintentionally a "lighter" sleeper, but I guess that's a part of being a student. I still overslept and missed lectures sometimes.
