  2. Yeah it was being stupid, their displaying now though :)
  3. I'm in love with them, that shark pet especially <3333

Will they come in different colors, or are they just given one default color?
  4. I can see them now.

They are very nice. I like the wolf one the most.
  5. It is gorgeous isn't it?

Yup, we have a 'default' color, and then red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, black and brown.

Not sure which 'color' that Jettan is whether its the default or one of the available colors, but the 'Wolfie' shown here is the 'purple' one.
  6. Yay for Wolfie! X3
  7. The big difference in art here is a big turn-off. Like, they aren't even shaded in the same style, let alone drawn to look like they match.
  8. They've both been done to meet what is written on our staff forums.

And how can they be drawn to match? Their two separate species their not going to match.
  9. You might post these on the forums for the site as well maybe?
And it's great to see these, to now be able to see the style of how to try and shade for the others doing pets. ^_^
  10. @SpunkiSpirouSpunkiSpirou - When you look at successful petsites all the art style is the same even if it's different species. These pets look like they belong to two different sites.

    The shark thing:
    • Thick lines
    • Smooth shading, you can't really see any determined shading lines
    • The coloring is smoother and fades into the other colors
    • It's generally more professional looking

    • Thin lines
    • Shading is very obvious and dark
    • Coloring doesn't fade into each other at all
    • Looks less professional alltogether.

  11. Who're the artists?
  12. @KiaraKiara
Even if the art looks a bit different, I don't think that it's fair to say that the wolfie looks unprofessional. Or did you mean compared to the style? Either way I don't think that's an appropriate word.
There really wasn't an exact style said for the site yet, and it's possible that these artists were working at the same time.

  13. Aim of the art style? Semi-realistic.
And definitely there are two styles going on there.
idk. I guess eventually we'll work with a uniform art style.

Also, what are the chances that the images haven't been resized to what we'll see on the site?
  14. I love the shark-beast - it's really cool o3o
  15. @Pepper-HeadPepper-Head - I personally don't think the wolf is up to par for what you'd want on your petsite if you were looking for it to be serious. It looks more like a personal art picture then a cleaned up petsite picture.

  16. And... What are the chances that it might be something set aside for revamps?
    ... Well. Just saying. >_>;

  17. I think the wolf looks nice. I don't think it looks unprofessional just because it's coloured a little more simply than what other pet sites do. It's drawn well and I think that if all pets were in the uniform style, that's how the site would come across as serious and professional.

  18. She means the shading style. At first thought you can think, oh this pet here has smooth skin and this pet has fur; thus the texture is obviously going to be different. I think that's what you meant. It's quite easy to stay in either "cell shade" or "soft shade" and still stay true to the animal's texture.

Like here's a penguin from subeta, who has feathers. A ferret who has fur. And a dinosaur who has smooth reptilian skin. They're all still cell shaded and are all in the same "style" of drawing. The advantage of that is that the players feel comfortable on the site, and off site anyone can identify which site the art belongs to.

  19. The shark is more fitting to what it wanted, from what i under stood. But, i think both the pictures are great honestly. I think it might even be nice to have maybe two styles of art for pets, instead of having to deal with one set style like it is on many sites out there. If maybe we can do both, it might let us do more, instead of limiting us to one thing for pets. But, that's just how i look at it. I really love both styles.
