Is Facebook changing the web as we know it?

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by cpvr, Mar 2, 2011.

  1. I know since Facebook came out - it has always tried to innovate itself to be better than the other social networking sites - and with facebook fan pages, facebook games, and other things, I believe Facebook is going to be around for a long time - and also, a lot of sites are using Facebook to connect to their users - or allow you to make an account including your Facebook details(we have that here).

But now, Facebook has also implemented a new commenting system that seems to have the web buzzing.

And here's a video on Facebook VP explaining the new system:

Information on when Techcrunch made the switch to FB's new commenting system:
Your banner/button can be located here for an entire month or year, please see our advertising on virtualpetlist thread for more information.

  2. Meh for me it's not really much better then that, I wonder if it will stay popular for long. I find it's anoying when people "stalk me"
  3. Well, people don't exactly "stalk" you - because you can edit your settings to display what you want others to see - that's in your account settings.
  4. Go back to 2004 and think about how many people you know even knew about Facebook. Did you? No.
Now think of the world without Facebook and ask yourself if it's changing the world as we know it.

It already changed the world. Now we need to get our world back.
  5. A year later, how does everyone feel about Facebook and what they're bringing to the table?
  6. I barely even spend five minutes at a time on Facebook lol. I'm either here or twitter or just playing on my phone.
