Pixel artwork - still popular?

Discussion in 'Art and Writing Forum' started by SpottyWolf, Jun 24, 2012.

  1. I remember a long time ago I was going to open a pixel pet breeding site. Pixel artwork was big back then. Now it seems like that's starting to fade in popularity. I love pixel artwork, and always will. How does everyone feel about pixel artwork?

    KITTY SUSHI!!!!!

  2. I personally love it :3 The ability to put so much detail into something so small is beautiful <3 Or even just have things be simplistic (I mean, look at my icon... so simple yet so cute!)

  3. Love pixel art and I wish I could do it. I've been practicing as much as I could!

  4. I love it! X) And yes, Pixel Art is still in. Just check out my thread looking for someone to color my pixel art xD *not intending to advertise it, haha, just saying :p

  5. I'm still thinking about later on in the future revamping my pixel artwork and opening up that pixel site I wanted to originally do. After Fabelz gets stable though. :p

  6. Pixel art? Love it. xD;
But I think I'm downright terrible at it actually.

This is the last pixel thing I did for a buddy. [IMG]

  8. I'm doing the pixel art of houndoom right now. xD

Pixel arts are so adorable! This will be my first one I have done from the scratch once the houndoom is done.

  9. Pixel art is the only kind of art I seem half decent at XD

  10. These are actually items I'm going to use on a site my friend and I are making! Pixels seemed to be fading from the spotlight, so we thought it'd be fun to try utilizing them. There's a certain beauty to great pixel work, I think.

Also I HIGHLY recommend everybody check this site out, because the work is stunning, and is one of my biggest inspirations for my site <:

  12. Pixel art can hardly go wrong and can tend to be amazing I think. If you are in for some top sights search pixeljoint on google. It's not so popular as other digital art because it's hard to master on a high enough level to use pixel art to make projects successful. If pixel art is used for hobbyist projects you are most likely to see lots of other mediums as well.

I make pixels too. Plant dino .gif

Edit: You have got to see the link given on the last pages last post.

Pixel art will probably stay popular with games. Specially on hand held consoles. You see some indie pixel games on the net quite often too. One thing for sure is that it won't die out soon.

  13. Pixel art will always be popular - at least in my opinion!

  14. I adore pixel art within games, it's something I love seeing,, and I just don't feel the same way about games without them. Most of the time.

    Also, @CometTheMicroraptorCometTheMicroraptor
That was incredibly gorgeous. I was pretty dumbfounded for a moment.
