Raw cookie dough: do you eat it?

Discussion in 'Health' started by cpvr, Nov 4, 2011.

  1. So, I was thinking - how many people actually eat Raw cookie dough? I know I do and love it. But, I've also been hearing that it could be harmful, but why?

  2. I do, and I love it. xD
    It's delicious!

Well, if you eat too much of it, you might get sick.

  3. i love it raw! way better then the cooked cookies :p the chocolate oatmeal is my favorite ^_^

  4. I love raw cookie dough, particularly oatmeal cookies raw. And the only reason is might be dangerous is the raw egg containing samonilla, which at least in the USA is super unlikely.

  5. Yeah it was something like 1 out of 1000 or more eggs have samonilla, and it's not like you'll die from it anyways. It's totally worth the risk for me. ;P

  6. I love raw cookie dough!
I usually eat raw store bought cookie dough, but I don't always eat my own cookie dough/cake batter. When I am cooking at home, if I am using directly from the chicken eggs I don't eat the dough/batter. If I use store bought eggs, I do. I don't know why. :/

  7. I love raw cookie dough. :) It's way better than cookies IMO.

  8. @ClarissaClarissa
    Yep, you do love it.
    TRUE STUFF. <3

  9. I usually eat way to much of it when making cookies.

    I love that stuff.

@A@ Not my fault. It's sooooo good. It's almost as good as beef jerky. Almost.

  11. Am I the only one who doesn't like it? I tried eating raw dough once and spit it up. I like my cookies better baked! and warm! especially straight out of the oven! Mmmm...!

  12. Chocolate chip cookie dough is amazing.

  13. I like a bit, but not too much. I prefer oogey gooey cooked cookie. 8)
It's bad because of the raw egg.

  14. YESHHHH! i freaking love it xD LOL

  15. I love raw cookie dough. Unfortunately it tends to wreak havoc on my stomach for some reason, so I can only enjoy as an occasional treat. :(

  16. I'll admit if I see my fridge or my parent's with some cookie dough, I'm eating it before they making cookies. I'm sorry, it's just a habit. XD

    Chocolate chips are also good.

  17. I love eating it raw, though I don't usually see it that much.

  18. Yea I like it sometimes if I'm making a batch but its really not good for us lol.

  19. I have heard that in the past many people got sick from eating it this way because it would be the same thing as if we ate raw meat. Our body does not tolerate this food too well so therefore I wouldn't want to take that risk to my health.
