What sports do you watch

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by cpvr, Jul 24, 2012.

  1. I haven't been caught up with my favorite sports team as of late. But, when I do, I love watching baseball and football. My favorite baseball team is the Boston Red Sox. My favorite football team is the New England Patriots. I usually don't catch the games because by the time I turn the TV on, its over. And its hard to catch their games out here in Texas and I don't watch the live stream for them.

I usually get the scores from Facebook, twitter or ESPN. So, what sports do you watch?

  2. The only game I watch on a regular basis is baseball. Go Cards \o

  3. I occasionally watch hockey, very entertaining. But I always will watch NFL football. My favorite NFL team is the Raiders, and I usually watch all of their games each season.

  4. I watch soccer pretty much all the time, and sometimes NBA when I am awake to catch the games, since they're usually really late here cause of the timezones and all.

  5. I'm ready for the football season to begin again. I'm so happy that my Boston red sox are doing so good this season.

  6. @cpvrcpvr, my husband is from Beantown, so he remains a huge fan of all Boston teams, especially the Red Sox. We live in NY, so he does have to deal with Yankee fans. (For those who don't know, it is one of the great sports rivalries.) Fortunately, I am a Mets fan, so we are compatible. I don't rub it in (too much) that I was at Game 7 of the 1986 World Series. I'm also a Jets fan, so it is interesting around here when they play the Pats. Same with Knicks-Celtics. I don't care for hockey much, although I did cheer for the hapless Islanders.

My favorite sports are equestrian: horse racing, show jumping, dressage. Rodeo, less so. We watch (and play) a lot of tennis and usually attend most of the 26 sessions at the US Open. Hubby likes golf, too, so I am tortured with golf on tv and attending tournaments that show up in the metro NY area.

I miss the days when you could see more Olympic-type sports coverage regularly. Now with extended seasons and more teams in so many sports (as well as games taking so much longer to play - WHY is that?), the focus is so much more limited.

  7. @N.E.WunnN.E.Wunn It's sometimes hard to watch my favorite teams play out here in texas. Sometimes, I have to stream the games in order to watch them because the channels I have don't usually show the games. I need to buy the NFL package or something so I can always watch the games without any problems. ESPN is such a life saver though.
