    Virtual Pets

Welcome to the Virtual Pet list forum!
We're a virtual pets and sim games community and we're the largest forum in our industry. We have a lot of virtual pet sites' owners and sim game owners that are quite active on our online community. Along with artists, writers and programmers that come here looking for work and games to work for. Our members who are artists sell art in our art marketplace and programmers are allowed to sell their scripts in the programming marketplace. We've been opened since 2011, however, we've owned our domain name since 2004 and since then we've grown and expanded quite nicely. What are you waiting for, why don't you join today?

Our list of virtual pet sites and directory of sim games have a lot of games listed that you can try out and possibly enjoy. If you're still curious about a game to play, you can check out some of our game reviews that were written by some of our great contributors and our interviews with respective virtual pet site owners, sim game owners, artists, writers and programmers that have done work in this industry as a whole.

What virtual pet sites have disappointed you

What I mean by this, the pet site either opened up for a little while or just couldn't make it because A) lack of staff B) lack of funds or C) lack of dedication and motivation.

So, what pet sites have disappointed you over the years? Were you sad when Cyopets didn't make it? How about Ataria(everyone thought it was a Subeta clone)?

Let's discuss those pet sites that have disappointed us over the years. =P

    Polaria made me disappoint.
It was there, and I really loved the graphics.
But then it disappeared for some reason... :|

    Neorus.
It was alive for a few months, from what I remember. Then it disappeared off the face of the earth.
Either way, it was a great site while it lasted, so the only big disappointment was the fact that it vanished.

I played neorus for a bit. I loved it a lot. I was disappointed because it was a genuinely fun petsite.

Zetapets. It had promise, but that just turned into piles of meaningless promises and a mix inaction and lack of motivation amongst key staff members that a lot of the original community just gave up and the site never truly recovered.

I'm glad someone else remembers it!
I also agree that it was genuinely fun. It didn't have much in the way of revolutionary features, but the pet designs were mostly fabulous. Same with the community.

And whilst I remember, Spielpets was also a pretty big letdown in the end.

Herunovus and Earthae (in its development) I wonder what happened to Earthae; we never got any new information about their progress after VPL shut down did we?

Ya, I remember Neorus as well. Jordan(reptileman) owned it. OwlManAtt also helped out for time to time. What did you like about it?

He's one of the owners. Jake is the other one.

Ya, I wish it could of made it - if it wasn't for all the staff conflicts and the meaningless promises.

HeruNovus and Renkilia were both a disappointment to me.

That was the first site that came to mind when I thought of "disappointment." Didn't they change their name, too? I remember going to a site that looked exactly like Zetapets but had a different name.

I was a mod/artist on polaria for a little while. If I remember correctly, Jake just disappeared one day and Gatlin didn't know how to code... then I started seeing Gat online less and less until it just kinda fizzled.

Tygras, because I didn't like the way the whole owner disappearing thing was handled. Very poor business skills.

If memory serves, Zetapets eventually came out with a new version that changed the game and a separate site was set up to continue operating as "classic" Zetapets.

Polairia. I was one of the artists there.
If I remember, Jake and Gatlin owned the site.
Something happened between. I think it was about ownership of the site? Bleh here and bleh there then it just died.

    Zerapia.

There forums are still there, but I think they kinda died. I think it got a new manager, but that was in 2009...
I was a graphics artist for them (Total failure, I was only 12/13 at the time...)
and the community was nice, and they had some very good artists there. I Think it had potential. But.. :/

Ya, I don't see why they didn't redirect the domain though. I remember the quests feature, and a few other dailies.
