What Virtual Pet Sites Have Disappointed You The Most?

  1. Some virtual pet sites just aren't for everyone and instead of bringing happiness to certain users, they actually bring disappointment to them instead, which is why it's perfectly okay to talk about your feelings.

So, in all of your years of playing pet sites, which pet games have disappointed you the most? Have you ever been sad by the closure of a pet site or a change of ownership, a pet revamp, new design or something else? Let's discuss this.

    Polaria made me disappoint.
It was there, and I really loved the graphics.
But then it disappeared for some reason... :|

    Neorus.
It was alive for a few months, from what I remember. Then it disappeared off the face of the earth.
Either way, it was a great site while it lasted, so the only big disappointment was the fact that it vanished.

I played neorus for a bit. I loved it a lot. I was disappointed because it was a genuinely fun petsite.

I miss Herunovus so badly.. The art was great and so much was there.

    Voice 1:

Zetapets. It had promise, but that just turned into piles of meaningless promises and a mix inaction and lack of motivation amongst key staff members that a lot of the original community just gave up and the site never truly recovered.

I'm glad someone else remembers it!
I also agree that it was genuinely fun. It didn't have much in the way of revolutionary features, but the pet designs were mostly fabulous. Same with the community.

And whilst I remember, Spielpets was also a pretty big letdown in the end.

Herunovus and Earthae (in its development) I wonder what happened to Earthae; we never got any new information about their progress after VPL shut down did we?

  9. Re: What virtual pet sites disappointed you because they didn't make it?

Because the owner (Mike) works at Subeta now.

Ya, I remember Neorus as well. Jordan(reptileman) owned it. OwlManAtt also helped out for time to time. What did you like about it?

He's one of the owners. Jake is the other one.

Ya, I wish it could of made it - if it wasn't for all the staff conflicts and the meaningless promises.

HeruNovus and Renkilia were both a disappointment to me.

That was the first site that came to mind when I thought of "disappointment." Didn't they change their name, too? I remember going to a site that looked exactly like Zetapets but had a different name.

  13. Re: What virtual pet sites disappointed you because they didn't make it?

I was a mod/artist on polaria for a little while. If I remember correctly, Jake just disappeared one day and Gatlin didn't know how to code... then I started seeing Gat online less and less until it just kinda fizzled.

  14. Re: What virtual pet sites disappointed you because they didn't make it?

Tygras, because I didn't like the way the whole owner disappearing thing was handled. Very poor business skills.

If memory serves, Zetapets eventually came out with a new version that changed the game and a separate site was set up to continue operating as "classic" Zetapets.

    zetapets= mythodreas?

  17. Re: What virtual pet sites disappointed you because they didn't make it?

Polairia. I was one of the artists there.
If I remember, Jake and Gatlin owned the site.
Something happened between. I think it was about ownership of the site? Bleh here and bleh there then it just died.

  18. Re: What virtual pet sites disappointed you because they didn't make it?

    Zerapia.

There forums are still there, but I think they kinda died. I think it got a new manager, but that was in 2009...
I was a graphics artist for them (Total failure, I was only 12/13 at the time...)
and the community was nice, and they had some very good artists there. I Think it had potential. But.. :/

Mythodreas is zetapets you are right.
They still kept the zp Lol

Ya, I don't see why they didn't redirect the domain though. I remember the quests feature, and a few other dailies.
