Recently a little project was started by Android called OUYA.
OUYA is a gaming console on a whole new level.

OUYA recently launched a KickStart to help funding the console development setting a goal of $950,000.
Since the lauching of the KickStart, the OUYA development has been funded an astonishing $5,379,392 into the developing the consoles, and there is still 17 days of funding remaining.

Not only has ex-Infinity Ward Creative Strategist Robert Bowling pledged $10,000 of his own money to the project, but he also announced a prequel to his upcoming title, Human Element, coming exclusively to the OUYA.

You may ask, Why is the OUYA so unique and being funded so much money.
Well, there are a lot of reasons.

  2. I think I remember reading about this the other day on Mashable, it should be good!
  3. Yeah read about this. Apparently the free games are not free, but have 'free aspects' I.e demos. Also (allegedly) The companies behind minecraft etc. have /not/ said that their games will be on the ouya etc., it is based on a lot of things. So they're basically lying about these confirmed games.

  4. @myrianna, If you take the time to read the post, you would have saw this.

I am just posting what I saw.
  5. And if you took he time to read, you would see that I wrote it is not confirmed, "I could see all current Mojang games go on the platform if there's a demand for it.", this is actually backing up what I said. This contradicts what they say in their video, where they confirm Minecraft as a game for their system.

I'm just not going to go "shut up and take my money" to them.

  6. Skepticism aside, I think this is what the gaming industry needs...I look forward to it, and I REALLY hope this comes to fruition!
  7. I like the idea of having developing games for it open to everyone, but sounds like the games will just be like android apps, but playable on the TV. And given the specs of the consoles it doesn't sound like it will be able to run many top-end games.
  8. At first I was like, meh. Then I read the part about developing games.... Me now --> : DDDDDDDD
  9. For some reason it doesn't seem like much can be expected from Ouya? XD I was kinda tl;dr though, so I might've missed somethings. I don't exactly see what *new* it brings to the gaming industry. And for being a tv-based console, I have a feeling it just wont be able to compete against the big boys; Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo always tend to bring something bigger and better. And if it's directed to [indie] game developers, why not just stick to the computer?
Think it might be something better to see as a portable, rather than for the tv..
But maybe I'm missing something here |D idk, just doesn't sound promising.
  10. @AevixAevix. the fact you can hack the console with permission and root it with permission and pretty much turn it into a new console.
And the fact it doesn't void your warranty.

  11. My thoughts exactly!
I wanna play around with this (assuming it comes to fruition)!
  12. @LionLion They just raised a ton of money.

Sounds like a lot of people have faith in this new console.

Pocketgalaxy will be on everyone TV in 2013...
  15. Well I know it'll be awesome on my phone for sure. Can't wait until it gets ready.
  16. Really excited for the Ouya to come out. I pre-ordered one the other day, so will sadly have to wait until April to get it. Has anyone else ordered one, or are planning to?
  17. This sounds really neat, however between my crafts, school and programming I doubt I will get one or have time to play with it if I did get one.
  18. One of the main reasons I am getting one is to develop games for it, but I also have seen quite a few interesting games that are coming to the console. One of which is a game that I have really been looking forward to, but was originally just planned for PC, Mac, and Linux but now looks like it will be ported to the Ouya, so I'm really excited about that.
  19. And the name of this game...? You can't leave me in the dark here! :(
  20. ooh I really like the look of this, I might have to go and preorder one :O Amazing
