I've seen a couple of players talk bad about a particular game, but you see them playing that game often at the end of the day. I mean if you don't like a game, is it not better to quit playing? What do you think would make anyone keep playing a game that they don't enjoy?

Sometimes I just need to play what others are raving about to judge for myself.

I will only play a game not because I hated it nor like it but I want to know what's in there, giving me the reason to talk when the game is being discussed by friends.

A lot of people are guided by others when it comes to choosing a game to play. They play the games recommended by their siblings and cousins, they play the games recommended by friends and reviews. Sometimes they keep on playing even when they don't like in a hope that there will be a point when they could start enjoying.

I have actually forced myself to play video games that I don't like. And that is simply because of the investment that I have had in that game. It is always a question of too deep investment to quit the game. It might be time or financial investment.

They might play a game they don't like to make a Youtube video. They can talk about why they don't like it, and get lots of views.

I don't know because I wouldn't play any video game which I don't like. I might play a game once and if I don't like it, I'll never continue.

This is what I am sure happens with a lot of video content creators because they need to get the process of playing games so that they can make videos.

It's as a result of peer pressure sometimes or maybe community. I remembered when my friends were playing Mobile Legends, I wasn't really enjoying it, but I was gisting about it just to flow with them.

People stick with games they don’t enjoy because of sunk cost (time or money already invested), social pressure from friends, habit, or chasing rewards and progress. Sometimes it’s also about hope, they expect the game to get better or feel “worth it” eventually.

When one has spent a lot in buying a game, it is always not easy for them to let the game lie just there without playing them. They would rather play the game and complain later.

I of the reasons is pressure and expectation. People keep playing because a game is popular, recommended, or tied to their identity as a “gamer.” Sometimes they think it will get better later, so they push through instead of just dropping it.

There are actually different reasons why some might continue playing a game they don't like, for example i recently downloaded a game that cost me a lot of data to download, and i ended up not liking it, but the only reason i still have the game on my phone is the fact that i spent a lot on it.

That is a big factor that has made players keep playing a game that they don't like. When they consider the sacrifice they've made towards getting the game, they don't have any option than to keep playing the game.

This is understandable. I would consider playing such a video game when I no longer have anything better to play.

I recently checked out the hype of Expedition 33, didn't think it was that good and then yeah, it earned the hype.

Majority liked the game and I can't lie, I enjoyed the amazing story when I was opportune to play the game.
