This has got me thinking for a while now and I think we need to talk about the loot boxes and their place in gaming. Here are my thoughts about loot boxes:

- It might be exciting and rewarding for players
- It's a way for devs to actually monetize games without upfront costs
-It's outrightly exploitative and it also encourage overspending on games. And lastly,
-It's like gambling, and it's always with psychological manipulation.

What are your thoughts?

What I think is loot boxes are a form of gambling and that is why we need stricter regulations and industry standards to protect players.

That's a good point about regulations. I’ll also like to say that we need to add that loot boxes can undermine the gameplay and make it feel like a chore. Don't you think so?

I don’t participate in loot boxes much, but they seem fun when used for optional cosmetics or small surprises. The problem starts when they heavily influence progression or push repeated spending. At that point, they feel less like entertainment and more like gambling.
