Are virtual pet sites making a comeback?

Yes, I believe a boom is possible. Over the past year, four pet sites have launched: Santae, World of the wilds, Runetails, and Snoozelings. Additionally, two major ones are currently in development, and I’m hopeful they’ll be released soon.

We’re also seeing a rise in mobile pet games, which could indirectly help virtual pet sites grow as players explore similar experiences. On top of that, more pet games are being released on platforms like Steam, many of which have received significant media attention. This fresh publicity has brought much-needed interest to the genre, sparking curiosity and raising awareness.

What’s exciting is how the industry has expanded beyond traditional browser-based platforms. It’s now thriving on mobile and PC, with app stores and Steam contributing to this growth. The industry is much larger and more diverse than it was before, which creates opportunities for innovation and new audiences.

We will always see something die down, it is inevitable but I believe that Virtual Pet Sites can make a comeback, especially with the dedicated fans they have.

They are making a comeback definitely. New games are coming out, old games are being updated to have more features. I think they will never die down.

I see a resurrection happening with developers picking interest in the game. This is what I have really enjoyed over the years and trust me when I say that it has been a breather of fresh air when I see new virtual pet games coming up!

They should act fast and well too. I am expecting much too from the Devs. The comeback will being more games to play and some settings for the old games too.
