For more than half a decade, I have been honing my writing skills, but I am still a long way from being a pro. There are a plethora of approaches that I still need to master before I can confidently consider myself a professional or a skilled writer. My writing journey started as a blogger, but I must admit, I struggled to create content that truly resonated with my readers. Nevertheless, I was able to monetize my blog and earn a decent income from it, which kept me motivated to continue refining my craft. How about you?

Believe it or not, it is very difficult to access one's writing ability and from my perspective, i strive to continually improve my craft because writing is a journey of growth and self- Discovery. This means that I still have a lot to learn.

What was your blog about, and how much is a decent income? I have often thought about making a Minecraft blog. I already have the domain name.

I am not a good writer but I am aspiring to be one of the professionals one day. I am taking classes on my improvement in writing and it has been helping me a lot.

I'm an okay writer, though I typically only post on forums. I do own a Sonic the Hedgehog themed blog, and I do find myself being able to write articles that have at least 300 words sometimes. I've written articles for another Sonic website in the past, and have written website reviews for Forum Promotion back in the mid 10's as well.

I wouldn't say that I am a pro at writing but I have been working in writing for over 10 years now and many have been very happy with my work, I do have clients that come back regularly for more work.

Grammar is one I find when I write that I struggle the most, it's one of the reasons I am thankful for apps such as Grammarly 🙂

I have been creating content for a very long time now that I can say that I am very good at being a good writer. It is never easy to build content, but I have noticed that it gets better when one is able to practise better on a daily basis.

The more you practice, the more you can be better. Writing isn't easy at all and building contents that requires writing too doesn't come that easy. I believed in consistency and it has been helping me for a long time now.

I think that this is something others need to say and not me because most people are subjective when we talk about ourselves. We all want to see ourselves as perfect as it can be. But I can say based on what others told me that it's pretty good. There are some mistakes in terms of syntax but the idea itself is good.

I think my writing skills are above average. I use spell check often when I'm writing online.
I use spell check too and it's a good habit to have. I'd say my writing skills are also average as well, but I'm seriously working on improving them because it's been a while since I've been writing.

That's the right attitude! I think writing is a skill that can always be refined, regardless of how good we think we are. You just need to keep practicing, and you'll see progress gradually.

I used to be a guest poster on a lot of blog sites in areas that I have a lot of experience in. They were all pretty strict about guidelines for good grammar and whatnot, which is acceptable for how much they would pay for an article (or monthly salary). I have a graduate degree, which really helped hone in my writing skills as each assignment was essentially a 2000-5000 word paper, far from the 500 word papers typically due at the end of the class I'd have to do for my undergrad.

I tried blogging on my own, but it just didn't pay out the same as quickly. It would've been a slow burn doing it by myself, whereas I could get an immediate check being a guest poster.

While I'm on forums though, I just let the train of thought just fly and put words on paper, still conveying the same ideas. If I wrote perfectly for forums and other chats, I would have to start in Google Docs and refine my work, taking a couple minutes per 100 words, and then refining it again, and maybe for a 3rd time. But, it would be pretty dry and not conversational.

I learnt from a coach that for someone to be a good writer, just continue to write. It won't be making sense but there will be a time that you will be amazed by how far and how understanding every words you put down means.

Your journey from blogger to being monetized is inspiring. I still find it very difficult to identify where my readers are hanging out so that I can produce content that resonate with them.

It's also very necessary to stay current and it requires constant learning. So, I make sure to follow industry blogs, attend webinars, and engage with fellow writers to gain access to the latest info.

I will only tell you to continue writing. You must surely get your niche. I will advise you to write about everything and start observing where you get the best reaction, that's where your readers are.
