Based on my findings, video games can be considered art because they:

- Combine different kinds of creative disciplines. For instance music, writing, visuals are combined in games.
- it can convey complex ideas in a simple way. And
- It offers unique and interactive experiences too.

What are your thoughts?

That’s a great topic, based on my findings, I think games can absolutely be appreciated as art because they offer a distinct, immersive experience just as we have in literature, film, or music.

I'd also add that games can push boundaries and it can also challenge societal norms in ways that traditional art forms can't. They actually deserve recognition.

Video games can definitely be appreciated as works of art. It's a visual art, just like films, shows and plays. It's just a interactive version of art, everything about a video game screams art.

There are tons of games that are art level worthy of just being stared at, games made by Vanillaware are always a sight to see.

Video games can be considered a work art in many ways. It comes with music that create immersive atmosphere, it can elicit emotions, empathy and brings about interactive connections with players like literature.

Video games have strong elements of art in them. But I doubt that I would consider them real work if arts. Yes, the visuals, the story and the music are all arts. But the gameplay more often than not takes centre stage. Games need players to make sense and that is why we can't really say it is arts.

Yeah, I get that. Gameplay really takes the spotlight most times. Still, I see games as art in their own way. The mix of visuals, sound, and emotion feels creative enough for it to be counted as works of art.

Yes, video games can definitely be appreciated as works of art because the effort and resources it takes to complete the development and publishing of a game isn't a day's job.

That's very true. There are some games that you play and you just feel like the full array of a modern arts form. Titles like The Last of Us prove to be perfect examples of this. The music, the story and the visuals all blend to create emotional depth as one plays the game.

I had played Last of Us for many times. After playing, I will come back again and replay it. It's really an art; from the story to the visuals.

Same here. I have played Last of Us over and over. Each time I play, it always gives me the feeling of a cinematic experience. The story telling, the depths of the characters and even the dialog evokes so much emotions in me that many movies fail at.

True talk. Last of Us is one game almost everyone respects because it blends storytelling, visuals, and emotion so well. When a game makes you feel something deep, that’s art in my own eyes.

Indeed, I felt something deep with the game that I will still play it again and again. There are other games like that too that whenever I play them, I don't feel like stopping.

It is a game that meant to evoke different emotions on people. One thing that I know about playing Last Of US is that it makes one feel alive and on alert when it matters in the game.

You need to play some games such as Red Dead Redemption and the GTA series. Those games are truly a work of art if you ask me.

video games are certainly works of art. They combine storytelling, visual design, music, and interactivity into a single experience. Games like The Last of Us show how emotion, narrative, and atmosphere can rival film or literature.

Since movie is an art, video games are also works of art. Video games are also some kind of movies with interactive elements.

video games can absolutely be appreciated as art. They have everything in them that refrence to art, for example, story, background score, and visuals, and all of these elements are combined into an interactive experience. What makes them unique is that players actively shape the experience, which adds a personal layer you don’t get from traditional art forms.

I would conclude that Video games are considered works of art, especially as they are made by creatives, and brought to life by creatives.
