Do you feel they are a help, or a ruin to the fun? Also, where do you get cheat guides? Which ones are the best ones?
 
Cheat guides are more so help guides and tutorials that help you play a game when you don't really understand certain aspects of how to play a certain level. But, I wouldn't call them cheat guides persay.

Cheating a game is something entirely different like running scripts or programs, which I wouldn't do.

Cheating is a different thing entirely. I wouldn't say one who is playing the game with a guide is cheating. One who is cheating in games is simply looking for dubious ways to achieve what they wish to achieve with playing the game. It is a different ball game that is not related with a guide manual, for example.
 
It depends on what cheats you use. If you get unlimited currency, it ruins the fun. I enjoy the grind in leveling up when I play games, and customization rewards as I level up.
 
The only "cheat" guides I ever recall using were online codes to obtain Yu-Gi-Oh cards in old-school Yu-Gi-Oh Game Boy games.
 
I believe that cheat guides can be good at helping one get through the tough stages of a game, but I also think that they can rob a player of the challenge and enjoyment of learning the ropes.
 
Whenever I get hooked on a tough level in a game, cheat guide can be of help because it will help figure out how to overcome such challenges. I have used cheat codes multiple times for different games on Game Boy.
