When creating a virtual pet game, do you create your character first or do you write the story first. Do you develop a character based on the story you have in mind, or build a story based on the character you have created. How do you build a pet for your pet game, or how would you develop story for your pet game?

Hrmmm, depends on how you want to tackle things, I think its best to make the story first and see what characters are made to fit that.

I always do story first. The characters and everything come naturally as you're working on the story (at least for me)

I am more comfortable with making the story first. That way, you can see which character fits into the story. Most players would be hooked to an interesting story instead of a cool character, in most cases.

When it comes to creating a video game, I’d go character first. A strong character gives the story a natural direction because their goals, personality, flaws, and relationships can shape the conflicts.

I'd brainstorm my ideas first before creating any characters or pets if I was building a virtual pet site.
