Cross-site trading occurs when you exchange items or points with another user for points or items on a different pet site.

Are you in favor of cross-site trading, or are you against it? What do you think the rules for cross-site trading should be?

Should staff members get involved when users engage in cross-site trading, or should it be done at the player's own risk?

I would look at it as the same as a group of Pokemon card collectors and Magic card collectors. Both have the same interest, so why not let them trade Pokemon for Magic cards? It would seemingly be the same concept.

I think the only rules that you implement on your site are to not trade with X if X is not reciprocal on some way or another (they ban your site name or censor it).

Done at own risk or you're just adding a job to your task list that really extends beyond what you should be doing.

I would be against it if I ran a virtual pet site. I'm not trying to build up my competitors. They can pay for ad space though.

I feel like I take more of a live and let live approach to things. So I would be fine with it but I think WontByte makes a good argument it should be reciprocated. Definitely there wouldn't be a way for site staff to monitor that so it should be at your own risk type of thing.

Cross-site trading divides opinions. I'm in favor, as it encourages community interaction and resource sharing. However, clear rules are essential to prevent scams and ensure fairness.

Well, I'm against cross-site trading and no other reasons than creating an unfair advantages, and increases scam risks.

I understand your concern, to make this work effectively, there is need for sites to implement transparent transaction logs. This creates freedom and security for the players.

While the possibility of cross site trading on virtual pet sites would be very interesting, it would be very difficult to regulate. And that would lead to a higher possibility of scams. I am nay on this.

Nope, I wouldn't be in support of it because first, you have to know the valuation of what you're trying to exchange and I'm not sure there's any way to get that right. You might be losing more or gaining more with an exchange.

That's a valid point. The value of an in-game currency on a virtual pet game might be subjective and dependent on how the player rates the other platfom. These discrepancy would make cross-platform trading quite difficult.
