Well, it is a general tendency to think that games can make people violent, especially those who play a lot of battle or combat games. However, there are no concrete evidence that games actually make people violent. In other words killing people in games does not necessary make people killers in real life.

Gaming don't or can't make one to be violent or calm. It depends on the personality of who plays the game. Some act violently when they ain't winning in the game and it warrant to be throw things around, these people have anger issues. It was never the fault if the games they are playing.

I completely agree with you. I've played plenty of combat games and but I'm not really violent in real life. In fact, those kind of games can be a healthy outlet for stress and aggression.

It might cause some anger, but most what the media tries to say about games is false. I don't think games increases anger for most people.

That's a very great point. That's not how it works. Just because someone plays violent games doesn't mean they'll become violent in real life.

Games doesn't increase anger but it can bring lack of control especially when one is being defeated in the game. Games can also tame someone by helping in controlling the anger always coming up when being defeated.

Yes, when you lose the game, you might get angry, you might even lose temper but that is just for a short time, you will soon forget your emotions. It is a common behavior in a lot of people but this does not necessarily make people violent

Those people that continued to be angry or lose their temper after the games have a big problem with them. Being violent requires to see a therapist because it wasn't games that caused it.

I've seen people get infuriated with video games, it depends on the person. I don't get violent no matter how much I game out.

I don't think games make people violent and that their natural tendency would be to become violent. What makes them violent is a different story...

What I do think is that violence in video games normalizes it and those tendencies can come out more or be more prone to coming out in arguments that are away from video games.

A good way to make this argument is through pornography.

Pornography have more negative effects on the person consuming it than video games. It can even influence your sex life to act like they do in those porn but I'm not so sure if you can carry out exactly what you do in some video games in real life.

That's only because pornography affects things behind your wall while acting out video games can have more real-life consequences. It would have to take someone who doesn't obey the law, understands the law, doesn't think the law applies to them, thinks they're above the law, etc.

Perhaps, maybe, it affects sociopaths/psychopaths/narcissists more than it would a normal and rational-thinking person. However, video games could bring out those tendencies, especially since some mental illnesses are developed during adolescence. So, their experiences through video games early in life could cause the underlying mental illness to come out so that they then act out later in life.

I think there needs to be clinical/studies done on this so that parents are more aware and knowledgeable. Though, I don't think it would be a fair study of how much money is involved in video games. We'll likely only see it later, when it's so apparent that we can't ignore it, as we did with doctors recommending smoking to doctors appalled that you would consider smoking over the span of decades.

I agree with you that it is basically on the person and not about the game. A violent person will always exude such actions whether they play certain games or not.

I don't believe that video games has the capability to make someone turn violent. It is someone that is already predisposed to control violent tendencies that might get violent from playing video games. They get morally disentangled from playing video games that is prone to become violent from playing video games.

I do not believe that games make people violent. Being violent is an individual's mindset and circumstances. It does not have anything to do with games. Although some might be frustrated with intense games, that cannot be the same as real world violence.

Being violent has to do with how anyone feels and not necessarily about whether they play a particular game or not. These people who make such analysis should learn how to separate the two.

Games are just a form of entertainment and not a cause for violence. People who are violent have other reasons for doing so. Maybe they have mental or personal issues that triggered it. It is definitely not games.

You are correct. If one start misbehaving, it's either a mental or personal issue that triggers it not a game. Games don't do such thing to humans.

I don't necessary think video games make people violent. They're not designed that way. if a video game brings out a temper in someone or makes them violent, that is more due to their mental health and not a video game problem.

That's where you draw the line here.

Especially considering the fact that video games don't control a person's actions, nor emotions. So, if a person acts out and blames a video games, it is on them and not on a video game. A person controls their own decisions, own actions and emotions. Not a video game.

Video games are a form of entertainment and leisure, they don't make anyone act out, nor become violent in any form.
