Do you think virtual pets influence people to get real pets, or not really? Do you think some people prefer taking care of virtual pets instead of real pets?

I can say that virtual pets can spark an interest in caring for real pets, it can build and teach responsibilities though virtual pets are not a replacement for real pets, it's a good starting point because they can foster empathy and understanding of animals' needs. Caring for a virtual pet can also help individuals develop skills like routine management and responsibility for their pets.

Some people prefer virtual pets because there's no financial burden or much responsibility compared to real pets.

Being financially capable is the first thing. In order to take care of your pets, you need to be financially capable because taking care of pets isn't a child's play and if you don't have money, your pets won't look well in appearance.

This is why pet site games have a limiting scope in making everyone who plays it to adopt pets in real life. It's only those who are ready for it financially, emotionally and mentally that can do it.

After playing the virtual pet games, I started day dreaming on how I will take care of my own real pets. The way that I will play with them and all that. It's only a dream because I'm not yet buoyant enough to get them as I want.

While I personally love virtual pets, I don't think it has made me ready for having a real pet. Having a real pet is still more complex than having a virtual pet. I wouldn't want the hassle of getting a pet trainer and veterinary costs. I would rather enjoy the thrill of having a virtual pet for as long as possible than get tempted to get a real life pet.

The virtual pets as influenced quite a lot of people to adopt the real pets and I have seen this happen many times. So, Yes, it does. I know a couple people who started with virtual pets and eventually said, “Let me get the real thing.” For some , it’s like a training wheels. You learn responsibility in a safe, silly way. But for others, virtual pets are enough, no feeding bills, no vet, no stress. 😂 Personally, I don’t think I’d get a real pet just because of a virtual one, but I get how it happens. It builds that small emotional habit. I just want to be free because handling real pet is a lot of stress and it comes with a lot of expenses as well.

It's still more complex but the beauty in it is that it will be more exciting as you treat your pets the same way you did for the virtual pets too. The only stress is going to see the vet and buying of their foods

Hmm I don't know, I would assume this might have helped young kids get pets and I suppose having a virtual pet could be a good indicator if the person will take care of a real pet. Then again, real pets costs much more than virtual pets to take care of lol.
