We have creative people who find inspiration from doing some awkward stuff. Some would be better once they smoke before writing or drawing where as others might want to do one thing or another.

Are there any activities that are not that great that you indulge in before you can be able to create anything?
 
I find inspiration from watching videos and reading other writer's work. I also get inspired from movies and shows along with books.

Sometimes, going for a walk in nature will spark some new ideas as well. It's something about nature that brings out fresh ideas.
 
If videos and tv shows count then yes, I've learned lots of odd things from it.
 
Watching movies or having some silent moments for myself is a boost full of inspiration to help me do more when it comes to writing. Siting quietly alone at a dark place is the best awkward habit that help me a lot.
 
For me, I have been inspired by awkward habits but people draw inspiration in various ways, and what will work for one may not work for another.
 
I wouldn't call awkward habit but I find a lot of inspiration when I go for a walk. I walk not just for health and fitness but also to get inspired.
 
Sometimes I get inspired in the shower and go into a deep thinking mode, which can feel a bit awkward.🤣
