The accessibility of game engines that we get on Unity and Unreal Engine are increasing the popularity of indie games. Also, the rise of digital storefronts like Steam and GOG, has also contributed to the rise. So, many people than ever can actually create and share their games now.

That’s spot on! I see huge success of indie titles like Minecraft, Terraria, and Cuphead . This has shown that small studios can actually achieve success in the gaming landscape.

I can say that the indie scene is really thriving. We have seen some innovative games like Hyper Light Drifter and Celeste make success.

Indie game development is on the rise, with more developers creating games using Godot, Unreal Engine, and Unity.

For those without development skills, hiring developers from Fiverr or other platforms is an option.

As a result, more games than ever before are being released on Steam and Itch.

This is a good thing, as it brings greater variety to the gaming market.

Indie game's developers are putting in more effort and creativity in their games than what AAA game's company are doing now. It's why gamers are paying more attention to playing indie games.

I think indie games has been on the rise for years now, especially with all the ways for developers to publish their games for free. Mobile games has had a huge impact on indie game development.

Seems like it and I'm glad, most tend to turn out to be rather good and more fun than most AAA made games.

I would agree that the game engines are tools that have brought very massive changes in the Indie games genre with more releases in the genre. The problem still with the indie game genre is how hard it is for those titles to be discovered.

You are right with your assertion because game engines have given the indie developers opportunity everywhere but the discovery of those games is still a very big challenge. Some of them are quite good but lack the right exposure or community support.
