Polishing our creative skills is always key to getting better at what we do. As a creative person, have you ever given up on learning any skill for one reason or another?

I haven't given up but I stopped for some time now. Learning of skills requires more money and time. I don't have the finances to continue learning the skills but it's still in my mind to continue when I have the money.

I have some issues when it comes to learning. When I start, I am very hyped about it but over time my emotions change and I lose interest most of the time. I realized that in order to learn anything or achieve anything you must have self-discipline and not rely on your emotions because they are changable..

DIY and woodworking.

As much as I'd like to remodel my house at times, it's not cost-effective when I balance out the time needed to learn what needs to be done, go to the store and get the items for the project, and even more, rent the power tools needed.

To be honest, yes. I once tried learning graphic design by myself but I struggled to grasp the technical aspects of it. So, I was frustrated and I put it aside.
I've had similar experiences while I attempted photography, but I found it very challenging. I still believe that 'giving up' allows us to re approach it even with a renewed focus.

I think we need to learn that temporary setbacks aren't failures actually. I've put aside a couple of skills like coding too but I may revisit it sooner.

I won't actually say I gave up but I simply took a break. A few months back I paid for a course but could not go through with it cause I needed money to buy most of the materials I needed to learn. Once I get some extra cash, am going to start all over again.

I've given up on learning how to draw. I like to make graphics, but I'll get artists to create icons/images for me if I need too.

I am passionate about expanding my knowledge and improving my skills through constant learning. Even if I do not get a job right away, the excitement of discovering new things and possibly employing them in the future is rewarding. In fact, I just took a new course and was happy to finish it in just two days. However, if it is about data mining and such, I will give up learning about them. It is not my forte.
