Fortnite's global iOS return reportedly reaches 3.4m downloads, marking an eight-year high

AppMagic data has recently estimated that this marks the game's most successful seven-day period since its original 2018 launch.

According to AppMagic data (via PocketGamer), this marks Fortnite's most successful seven-day period since its original launch month in 2018.

The 3.4 million downloads nearly matched Fortnite's launch week total of 3.7 million, exceeded its second week (3.1 million), and represented its fourth-strongest week on the App Store.

Saudi Arabia led with 474,000 installs, followed by France (366,000) and the UK (307,000). Each significantly outpaced the US, which recorded 151,000 installs during this period.

In addition to total downloads, the global relaunch drove a sharp increase in daily activity. Installs rose by 1,408%, from approximately 19,000 on May 18 to nearly 290,000 on May 19, peaking at 674,000 on May 23.

This daily peak approached the game's all-time record of 764,000 daily downloads, set during its original iOS launch.

The recent surge also surpassed the previous daily install peak of 569,000, recorded on May 24, 2025, shortly after the game's return to iOS in the US.

Fortnite first launched on iOS in March 2018 but was removed in 2020 for violating App Store rules.

Fortnite returned to select markets, including the US, last year. The recent global re-release expanded availability to major markets such as Germany, the UK, Canada, and Japan.

However, Fortnite remains unavailable in Australia, due to what Epic Games describes as an "illegal payment arrangement with Apple."
