Game preservation is necessary as it will make those classic games available for new generations of gamers. Not only that, it will also make us relive our childhood memories.

I can imagine accessing my favourite childhood game. It's going to be so interesting. I would love to dig into archive to play my best childhood games. What about you?

I'm sure, like the Library Of Congress and the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, there's a repository of video games out there.

Surely one exists, mirrored around the world. I just don't know about it.

Thanks for sharing that Insight. Game preservation are very necessary because developers can leverage them to make awesome games. It's also a way to preserve our rich game history.

There's also an Adam Sandler movie called Pixels that shows the importance of preserving games, just in case our country ever came under attack by one, we would have the source code to defend against the attack.

Kidding of course, but it looks like a good comedy to pass some time.

It's a way to preserve the game's history. It will also make it possible for the game developers to learn from their past successes and failures. The classic games are a source of inspiration for the developers.

I wish more companies would embrace this and make a goal, companies like Nintendo tend to let their games vanish.

That was a great point! Another important aspect to consider is the creation of digital archives which can make the classic games easier to access.

Game preservation is for preserving old and new game's history. I haven't preserve my old games because I don't know how to. With this insight, I believe that I am more closer to having my old games back to me again.

It is so crucial that we keep the old games. I’m always happy whenever I see people keeping those games . I have seen numerous guides online where we can learn how to do it, it’s not that complicated.

Keeping those games will also be another channel to relay your funs to your children. They might not quite understand it but you as the main host knows how and what you feel 😊

I have always seen new game developers talk about getting inspiration to build games from those who has done it in the past before them. So, what you said is a good example of this.

All the games that I have played in the last ten years have been copied to a hard drive. I love to replay them and relieve moments. It really makes sense when you are with old friends and just get to play all those old games again that you guys used to play together.
