Game Revivals Brings Powerful Nostalgia

There is one game that got revived after 6-7 years, due to the community not ever giving up on it. This game happens to be Gigantic, a MOBA/hero shooter combined.

There are also private server revivals of Disney games and Dreamworks games.

Bringing back dead games via private servers (which legally cannot take donations), or studios buying rights and bringing back fan-favorite games (like Gigantic) are amazing teams that deserve a lot of love for keeping the games going past their original death.

That's cool, I know there are game servers out there for other dead games. HorizonXI is an example that comes to my mind it is a private FFXI server based on old-school FFXI.

Yea, I'm very much appreciative of the work people do to maintain private servers to keep communities alive. Even though they legally can't accept any money, which makes it up to the staff to cover all server expenses.

There are a couple of fan made Club Penguin games that are online, but Disney owns the trademark.

So, they’re unable to generate any money from running the game.

There’s also a fan made Toontown game that was developed after Disney pulled the plug on the original in 2013. However, the new version Toontown Rewritten has been open for almost 10 years and has been doing quite well.

Thanks to a bunch of game-makers who were still teens when "Toontown Online" disappeared, the beloved online world lives on as "Toontown Rewritten."

There is something about the new releases, especially if it is a classic game. It generate strong feelings of nostalgia for retro players like me. Those revivals of classic video games help me rekindle my nostalgia about gaming along with my childhood memories.

There are some games that are part of the gaming history of some people. And seeing those games die a natural death is always heartbreaking. Imagine games that you have spent so many hours up to 300 hours playing over and over as a child. Reviving these games serve to keep the magic and the essence of those games alive in the impression of core loyalists of the game.
