The Last of Us series has the best storytelling in my opinion. The characters, plot twists, and emotional depth are very good and they are all top-notch as well.

I agree, but I also think the Bioshock series has good storytelling too. The way it explores complex themes like morality and free will is really thought-provoking.

I just realised that the Red Dead Redemption series also has the best storytelling and it's awesome but it has complex characters.

For me, Red Dead Redemption and The Witcher series has a best storytelling and characters. They are mature, engaging stories with complex characters and moral choices.

The dot hack series has a pretty good story going for itself, expanding anime, video games and novels to tell is wide and deep virtual world storyline.

Red Dead Redemption 2 had a very good storyline and also The Witcher 3 :Wild Hunt. They are two video games I enjoyed way more.

I still have yet to play any RDR games, does the first game have a good storyline as well?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is my choice. I like the character development in RDR2, it keeps me coming back.

Yes of course, the first game's storyline was also very good. The story was centred on John Marston, a former outlaw trying to leave his criminal past behind to live a peaceful life with his family. He was then forced by government agents to hunt down the members of his former gang in exchange for his family's safety. He had to choose between his family or his former gang members.

Rockstar Games have always been very good with their games. Both the first Read Dead Redemption and the part 2 had incredible storyline. You will definitely fall in love with it.

I always felt that Resident Evil had a good storyline for the games.

Hollywood seemed to think so too. 😛

When it comes with creativity in storytelling in video games, the one that readily comes to mind is Outer Wilds. It is a budget indie game. The storyline in the game is full of intrigues keeping a person always anticipating.

Outer Wilds is such a clever pick. I actually got lost in its world for hours, at least I can say a few about it. It’s one of those games that makes you think deeply. Witcher 3 and God of War still top my list though. Every scene in those games pulls you in emotionally.
