I've tried to do it before, but never fully completed any Pokedex.

I think I have back during the GB games, but as they threw in hundreds more, it became too tedious.

That's still very hard even in the OG gameboy games. Especially evolving every Pokemon to complete the Pokedex, tracking them down, and some Pokemon were required to be traded to evolve.

I've completed the Pokedex in Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon X. But it requires a lot of dedication and trading to get to that point .

For me, I've actually gotten close in Pokemon Ruby and Omega Ruby, but always missing out in the end.

My strategy is keeping a checklist, participating in events, and trading with friends. That was how I was able to complete the Pokedex in Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon X
