Hi! Yet another dev 👋

Hello! My name's Gen! I'm just a silly little guy.

I figure I'll do the requisite plug to start off with: like many folks here I'm working on my own virtual pet site. Mine is named Goo Grotto and it's about collecting and combining cute little slimes! My main inspirations are the Chao gardens from Sonic Adventure, Pikmin, Blaseball, and (of course) Slime Rancher.

Goo Grotto Dev Log <- my dev log which is a little bare so far, but I'm going to try to write a post or two every week.

It's still in quite early stages so I'm not really trying to get sign-ups yet - I'm done a lot of the main framework, but I've got a bunch more planned features before alpha testing. So for now I'm mainly just trying to connect with other devs and enthusiasts and get to know the community... trying to breaking into the indie web a little bit I suppose. 🙂 I hope to be able to contribute and see the cool stuff people are building!

Thank you! That is what I was going for. 🙂 The slimes are all made entirely out of code and there's only so much I can do with them visually right now (I'm prioritizing being able to combine them and down the line, I'll be animating them or even applying physics). I really wanted to lean into thick lines and simple shapes and happy colours to make it feel like a cohesive, uh, slime world.

I'm not much of an artist, but I am a math nerd. You work with the skill set you have. 😛
