Some games fail commercially but later they manage to build dedicated fanbases and become cult classic. Some examples are Deadly Premonition, Pathologic, etc.. What makes a game a true cult classic? How does a game manage to build a passionate community? Which underappreciated game do you think deserves a second chance?

A game that I would identify as a cult classic is a game that most likely was not marketed well. The fans had to dig deep to find the spice in the game and started building a following around it. The game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is a great example. It looked broken at launch but the fans looked deeper into its lore and turned it into a cult classic.
