For most writers, they have a niche or niches that they are very familiar with. They can always deliver perfectly when they have to write on that niche.

What if a writer is given a completely different niche to write on? I mean a niche they know absolutely nothing about. How do you as a writer get to write good content on a completely unfamiliar niche?

Yea, pretty much write many things outside my niche. It's not easy, but it’s doable. I’ve written tech articles before even though my major concentration is finance. The key is to research like your life depends on it 😅. And you would be surprised how you would do well in it.

I am a writer and I can write in any topics, including the ones that I am not familiar with or have no idea. I do it through research and reading.

You first need to read and build knowledge around the subject.

Start by treating it like research, not performance. You don’t need to be an expert, you need to understand the basics clearly enough to explain them simply.
Read a few reliable sources, note common ideas, then rewrite them in your own voice.

Doing research on a topic you're not too familiar with will definitely help. I've had to create content for a niche I wasn't too familiar with in the past so I always made sure to have a tab open so I could do research while writing my responses. I would also read further and edit my posts if they didn't have correct information.

By doing research, watching videos, reading wikipedia articles, and searching things on Google that are related to that particular niche.

I would also recommend using Google trends, or typing -forum in Google search along with a keyword from that niche, as that'll help you learn more about a particular niche.

If there's books or newspaper articles out there regarding a niche, that would be another way to research that particular niche as well.
