I am more of a designer than a writer, just like writers we also have designers block. In times like this what I normally do is to take a break. I stop struggling and just focus on something else, it could be a movie, a good book, or even games. After a while I make a little research on projects done by others, since my mind is in a more relaxed state, it helps me easily pick one or two things that I can use for my own work. As a writer going to new places is also a good way to fight writer's block.

There have been some times that I can think of what to write but due to the sentences not making sense to me, I will rewrite or I can start afresh to write it again. I didn't know that's word block happening to me.
Yeah, I would attribute writer's block as being unable to come up with what happens next in the story or not even being able to start a story/plot/subplot.

But, I don't know if word block is a thing for writers, as it's only something that I've come across in my own work and never pursued writing courses more than I had to (stopped at the required level to get my bachelor's) to know if that's apart of "writer's block".

I will be writing exactly what I know I am writing, but be unable to finish it because I come to a word that I knew I was going to use, but just couldn't recall it, or it means something different than what I originally thought. So, I'll need to look up the word to verify that's the one I was going for, and if not, question the entire block of text I just wrote to try and figure out what I was aiming for. And if I still can't determine what I was trying to convey with that word or phrase, I'll need to rewrite it. However, there's no writer's block, per se, as I know what I am writing, I just can't express it the way I set out to do the first time.

I Change my environments and take breaks to overcome this and it has been a very effective strategy for overcoming writer's block. I also prioritize freewriting as well.

Taking a break always helps. Sometimes you might just need 5 minutes, and sometimes 5 months to get the best product (say if you're writing a novel). Don't rush it, because it will impact the story you're telling. Overcome the block, then continue.

I find out that Setting deadlines and outlining content before starting really keeps me so focused. And collaborating with my fellow writers to also sparked new ideas and prevented stagnation in me.

Take a break and then focus on things you love and enjoy, focus on what gives you creativity and let yourself get recharged.

I also think it's more important to shift focus from perfection to progress. This works wonders for me. I also read inspiring content to overcome writer's block and maintain productivity at the same time.

Writing notes and taking breaks can help overcome writer’s block. Sometimes, watching something new or reading can spark a fresh creative mindset.

I take time off to clear my head when I start running out of ideas for new content, or if I get overwhelmed.

I never have had any kind of writer's block. I never experience dearth of ideas, my main problem is choosing the best ideas. If you ever experience writer's block, you can over come it by asking ChatGPT. Generative AI are very good for generating ideas

This is recommended when you are finding it difficult to write. The creativity level will be low, and no matter how you try to push, you may end up not doing so great.

I can't write fictional stories at all. It would be incredibly hard. Well, that's why novelists are paid a good deal of money. That's what they're trained to do.

Note: the problem with AI is if it's as good as a professional, then how can professionals keep an above-average wage, assuming they get any wage at all?
I don’t see AI being as good as professional writers as it was built by humans and still needs humans to train it.

I still see professional writers out performing AI systems for a long time.

I can totally relate to that. Writers block is very common. I do free-writing to solve this sometimes but I think the best is to take a break to refresh.

Best thing to do is take a quick break, rest and relax while doing things you enjoy and let the creativity return. Don't try to force and do something.

Why then am I hearing that AI will outperform humans. I have tried to make some people understand that humans build AI and the same AI still needs humans to function effectively.
Professional writers don't need AI to perform their jobs easily.

The method that helps me the most when I have writer’s block is writing down words. When I finally break free from the block, I know exactly what I was thinking about, and I can continue from there. I always try to write down my ideas, even when I'm dealing with writer’s block.

This is awesome. To be able to pen down words when you are struggling to do so remains one of the best things that one can do. I like the fact that you can be able to do this when faced with the challenge of writer's block.

I have missed this point of writing down words several times that I have writer's block. The difficulty that a writer passed through sometimes is that you might not be able to remember where you stopped but if you pen down the words down, it will be much easier when you are back to write.

I sometimes get lazy, sometimes I am not in a mood to write, but frankly speaking I have never experienced writers block. I write everyday

Writer's block is pretty terrible. I step away from the computer, and go do something completely different. Cooking or playing with my pet clears my mind. Freewriting also help.

I don't experience writer's block, my problem is procrastination. Sometimes I feel too lazy to write but I never feel any kind of block in my mind. When I don't feel like writing, and when words don't come easily, I start reading my old works or chat with AI to get inspiration immediately.

@Nomad The way I see it, there are many different forms of writer's block. It could be idea generation or lack of ability to put ideas in words. For me, freewriting helped me to deal with writer's block many times.

Not having the ability to put the ideas into words is something that I've struggled with a few times. Especially when I'm dealing with a block or something. It does happen, but not that frequently. It sucks when you're dealing with too, as you're unable to create and put the magic into your words.

It can be frustrating when you are trying to put ideas into words and it is not working as you would wish. When such has happened, how were you able to overcome the moments?

I have witnessed writer's block on many occasions, I love to sleep while it last.
In the meantime, I will leave my environment and chill with friends.

It is not that difficult to overcome writer's block. What I do is simple, I change my environment, then I also engage in free writing or brainstorming to get ideas flowing.

There's no other way to deal with writer's block than to rest from writing. Take out some time, Refresh your mind by taking a walk and have an ice-cream too.

This is awesome. Where are the places that one can visit when they are struggling to be creative and it can help them get better?

I personally am just came back from Writers Block. The ideas dried up and words just stopped flowing. What I did was to take a whole day off anything that has to do with writing. That was yesterday. And I am refreshed again now to start writing.

One very good way to beat art block is changing the environment or probably change the medium which you are using. It could be switching from digital to traditional art or vice versa, just to spark creativity and bring fresh ideas. You could also explore new themes to create that sense of inspiration which will take you to your next masterpiece.
