How do you chose the right narrative?

Getting to know the right narrative to use is key in becoming an excellent writer. When it comes to writing, there are different point of views such as first person, second person and different versions of third persons. Whenever you write, what do you consider in order to find the right narrative? Is it the story tone, theme or level of connection?

These things working individually and also collectively. Sometimes you can use the story tone to find the best narrative, the same goes both to theme and level of connection.

The story determines the narrative. MY choice of point of view depends on what kind of character I have developed and what kind of story I am exploring. Usually I alternative between first person limited view and third person omniscient view.

I look at the tone of the story, the theme, and the level of connection to the characters. All of these have a say in the choice of the narrative I go with.

Choosing the right narrative for me is majorly dependent on the level of connection with the potential write-up. Any write up that I am deeply immersed in the connection, I always use the first person narrative.

It depends on the kind of story I would like to tell. When it's personal, I apply the first person style. When I wish to narrate it as an outsider perspective, then I use third person.
