So, I understand where you come from, though! Video calls can be very taxing for most of the introverts or the people who prefer being alone. Just being on camera can put additional pressure on them. For me, there is nothing wrong in video calls. I do it almost everyday.
Thank for understanding some of us that won't say it the way it's in our mind. Sometimes, I feel like it's a pressure when answering video calls. One of my friend jokingly say something about my face, this brought lots of questions for her. She continued to ask silly questions until I hanged up on her.

I do video calls only with my friends and family and I love it. I do not do video calls with my clients or strangers.

My own is that no one has the right to call me on video call without my permission. Even if you are very close to me, at least give me respect because I deserve it.
A lot of people would never care about asking for your permission before calling you on video call.

There's a pattern to this which I don't like too. Ladies will expect to be asked for permission before being called on video call but they will never ask for a man's permission before calling them on video call.

This is applicable to me as well. I will not be comfortable doing video calls with strange people. Even if I want to, I would prefer to do it with friends and family. I think that is where my anxiety is coming from. It is the feeling of being on a video call with people I don't know too well. I’m not always comfortable with that.

Sometimes as a professional, we might have to do video calls with strangers. Recently, I had issues with my Binance account and I had to sit on a video call with Binance representative and it was very awkward.

If it's about a financial app like Binance, money is involved because they will ask for a video call if it's not important.

What was the reason Binance asked for a video call with you?

I’ve had some awkward video calls too, especially with someone I don't really chat with. To be honest, I don't feel comfortable with video calls..

I wish it's possible to approve accounts that can call someone video call on any social media platforms. This way, it's going to permanently stop total strangers from calling anyone video calls.

It depends on how close you are to the person. I believe you shouldn't create this rule for your partner, especially if both of you are far away from each other.

If it's my hubby that's calling me then I don't mind doing video calls. But most of the time it's just a telemarketer that's call me so I wouldn't want to do a video then.

I get annoyed when someone tries to video call me or call me on Facebook. I don't mind videos calls if it's for business.

There are many people who doesn't know how to respect other boundaries. It's why they over step with calling video calls when they shouldn't.

I don't know the ladies that you are talking about. As a lady, I will make sure that I asked for your permission before sending the call. I don't know the reason that I will call a man without knowing what he's doing at the moment.

It is rude for anyone be it a man or a woman to call someone on video call without knowing what they are doing. I do not support such attitude as I see it as being silly and stupid.

It's not every lady who behave in such a way. There are some of them who are very respectful. It's the over entitled ones who always behaves in such manner.

The way you said ladies was what get to me. I don't like to generalize things no matter the gender that are doing the most. There are men too that can't take permission before calling too. Some of the both genders have entitlement spirit.

I tend to ignore those types of people who are always behaving in that kind of manner. Whatever that is, their aim is what I don't know at all. You can't call me on video call without permission, plus we are not intimate, and you want me to pick.
I usually don’t answer video calls unless they’re from a family member or a close friend of mine. I don’t mind video calls one bit in that sense.

My sisters Facetime me a lot, and I have a few friends who do it too. I also use it to see what my nieces, daughter, and nephews are up to, or catch up with my uncles and aunts in another country. Facetime and video calls help you feel closer when you can’t see someone in person.

I like them for that reason, but I don’t like when people use them just to be nosy or for no real reason.

It is very okay as long as you are having a video call with someone who is very close to you in terms of relationships. My annoyance is when someone who is never a close friend decides to do that with me without permission.

Some people can be very rude. Even with having it written bold on my WhatsApp not to call me video call without my consent, some people still calls.

It is extremely important to seek permission before initiating a video call and that shows mutual respect regardless of gender. We just need to ask for permission before you video call someone.

This can be very annoying especially when they are calling for something that's very useless and of no benefits to you.

For some reasons, I don't fancy video calls. I can count the number of times that I have made video calls even when I have excellent devices for video calls since 10 years now. I don't think I have done video calls up to ten times in my life.

Yes, it's a behavior both genders display, I agree with you there but it doesn't change the fact most ladies get annoyed when someone (a guy) calls them without permission but they will never seek for permission to call another. You might not be that way but it doesn't mean others are not. I see it everyday.

I personally enjoy video calls.

I get busy and sometimes a call is best done with by video or text.

I hate voice calling. Isn't that weird?

It is not weird. I've got a friend who also likes video calls more than voice calls. To him, he is not always in the mood to talk longer and that is where he makes better use of the video calls instead of voice calls as most video calls don't last as long as one would think.

I hate voice calling as well. I prefer a text or a call instead.

I have some friends that send me voice texts a lot and I just send them a text back instead of a voice text. It's it worth a call, then call lol.

If the voice text isn't too long like more than 2 minutes, I don't have any problem with but once I see 10 minutes or more, I'll skip it.

I'm very country and my accent is very southern even though I live in Illinois but I live on the very bottom across from Kentucky and a lot of us share that southern accent.

So, if I try to use voice to text, it never works right on a phone, it always puts the wrong words in. So, I don't use that either. I use text with my thumbs but spellcheck always makes me have to go back and change the words LOL

It's always a lose-lose situation for me on the phone LOL
