I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I just like drawing and do it pretty much whenever (even little doodles on the back of receipts at work).
I haven't done anything complicated for awhile because I just don't have the preferred tools or time. Maybe I can get off my butt and do some pixel stuff on my laptop but currently tablet less and lacking a comfy setup. But it's def on the to do list.

Same here as with @Misomie . I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I started out drawing random things at first then had a strong desire to become a shoe designer and filled 3 sketchbooks full of shoe designs (even took a shoe making course).
It wasn't until I met my husband and we started working on Exabyss did I use my artistic-ness(?) for games. It's been so much fun to be able to create a world from nothing! Very satisfying stuff.

I graduated from The American Academy of Art in 1987. I've been an artist since then, only taking breaks here and there. I do fine art and graphic design and as the years go by, I find that I do less of the fine art. I just don't feel inspired. It's a lot easier to do the graphics these days, especially now that I use Canva.

I have been drawing from when I was a kid till now though it's not my profession anymore. I have gotten awards as the best artist back then in school, I was one of those that draw for their classmates as many that want my arts.
I was a very good artist then and I was hoping to go further in that path but sadly, I didn't continue because of many conditions.

This is great. To begin drawing right from little is one thing that can make one become very good at it. What conditions made you stop drawing when you grew up? Was it basically as a result of not catching up with events, or what exactly is the challenge?

I was a very good artist but I was afraid that I don't have all it take to enter arts school and also my parents feel that being an artist isn't for a girl so I need to channel the energy to another thing.

A lot of us back in those days had our parents limiting us from doing what we wanted to do and it was a sad experience to say the least.

That was a very big lesson taken. I will make sure that my own kids are not limited in anything they want to do. I will follow them up until they are good with them.
Our parents thought they were doing the best thing but they don't know they are just killing our spirits. I don't blame them in anyway but I won't allow such to happen to my kids too.
