How often do you play just to socialize?

For many players, the game itself becomes secondary to spending time with friends. Have multiplayer games replaced other ways of catching up, or do you still prefer talking without a game involved?

I don't socialize much while gaming, even in multiplayer games. I probably would if I had a headset. The only game I could really see myself using one for is NHL 26.

These days, I probably play to socialize more than anything else. Catching up with friends while playing is often more enjoyable than the game itself. Even if we don't accomplish much in-game, it's a great way to stay connected.

Frankly speaking, I don't play games to socialize, I play games for relaxing and it is generally a solo activity for me. having said that sometimes I play multi player games, especially with friends and family.

Most sports games are just that way. Some gamers play them because they want to relate better with others who play the same game. A game like NHL 2026 is that type of game.
