I'm working on an app called KawaiiGotchi and you can have it on your phone and your Apple watch.
It's going to have all the basic functions a Tamagotchi has but with more cool styles. Not only pixel but also pets in Ghibli style, 3D pets, scarry pets, kawaii pets

I am very open to recommendations of what ppl would be most excited about ... Here is the Instagram if you want to take a look. Would be great to get recommendations on this! https://www.instagram.com/kawaii_gotchi/ ─=≡Σ((( つ◕ل͜◕)つ

Thank you @BerrieStrawberrie and @Baw$e 🙏🙏🙏

Yes, you can level up. But not in a shape-shifter way so much. Your KawaiiGotchi is born from an egg and reaches its visual final stage after hatching. But the longer it lives, the stronger it becomes. There will be a simple form of battles and leveling up is going to be beneficial 🙂

I did think about having accessories for the pet at some point...

I want this game to be fun and collaborative. So basic items will be for free for sure. But I also want to introduce special items, and extra designs that can be purchased on the app store and also in cryptocurrency. Which will be optional! Does it sound fair?

Just so you guys know, this project uses AI, Crypto and stolen corprighted content. The website and instagram feature major inconsistencies and poorly designed posts/layouts. Bunch of red flags, this seems more like its going to be a cash grab/scam than an actual game. Hoping this isnt the case tho.

What content is stolen or copyrighted? I hope it's not the case either. It seems like a cool project.

@cpvr what you think about this?

The usage of Hello Kitty and the atempt to imitate Studio Ghibli's artstyle via AI could put them in a lot of legal trouble since they do not have the rights to the IP's. Normally this would fall under fair use if it were just a cutesy video made by influencers/news sites, but since this is the official account and website that are promoting a monetized project, it legally counts and corp right infringement and content theft. (there's also the fact that AI STEALS from artists to produce it's slop, and it's pretty scummy to promote a game made with AI to communities moved by artists)

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I didn't mean to trick anybody into anything. And I'm glad you brought all of that up @LunarYokai 🙏
Bec I'm seriously looking for feedback and want to talk to some ppl before I spend too much time on development.

1. do you mean the logo by Hello Kitty? I didn't think it was a copy. Is it too close you think? It's just supposed to be a cute cat actually
2. AI images & Ghibli, I am not aware that this is illegal. As far as I know, you can copy any art style you want as long as you don't do the same thing. Since many ppl like Ghibli, I thought it would be fun to have something similar as a virtual pet.
3. Cash grab - the concept of capitalization doesn't exist yet. Like I said the game should be for free and there is an option to buy extra items. Optional for sure! Seems common practice and not unusual to want to get a couple of dollars from making a game. The biggest red flag seems to by I mentioned crypto. Do you recommend not to have that as a payment option? It should be optional and NOT an NFT project or anything like that. I know there are a lot of crypto projects out there that don't have any real value. So I'm not surprised it is "suspicious". Do you think there is any way of having crypto as a payment on a not suspicious way?

Regarding poor execution and inconsistency, this project is really in its VERY beginning. It will take months until I have anything useful to share. Right now I'm trying to get a feel for what layout to use, how pets could look like, and so on.

Hello!

Regarding point 1. I was reffering to the advertisement featuring an animation of my melody on your instagram page.
Regarding point 2. Imitating an artstyle isn't a problem at all, the issue lays within 2 things: 1
oficially corelating your monetized project to an IP protected by corpright which has no involvement in said project, this could count as plagiarism. And 2. Making use of AI explicitly trained off of intellectual property you do not own, especially when the company has expressed it's ditaste towards said practice, this falls outside of creative commons, meaning, it's illegal and can end up in a lawsuit if your project is successful or if Studio Ghibli finds it. Both of these things are individual issues, but when combined they become much more agravating.

Regarding point 3. I understand and apologize for assuming that the project was nearing completion due to the existense fo the website and it's own token.

And another thing, if you allow me, I really do hope you drop the usage of AI, not only because of its ilegal nature, but also because of its imorality. Many artist are willing to work for very cheap if not for free, including myself, if you do need the help, don't be afraid to ask.

With all that said, I wish you luck in your project!

I appreciate taking your the time in explaining the details. point1. I might just delete it. I tried the IG remix function to simulate how my melody-like animations could look on a Tamagotchi-like device.
point 2 - I will look for alternatives, like hiring artists or doing more art myself in the beginning. AI in video games is a big topic. Labeling something as AI is the least to be done and I would have done so on the app store but I could have mentioned it in the description here. More AI-generated content in games seems inevitable IMO. If people enjoy the experience, why not? vs giving artists a fair share. We could talk for a long time about it and I will think deeply about the next steps
point 3 - I guess having a website did help to give credibility but not in a good way so far. The token also doesn't exist yet. It is a concept idea to explore if an additional item store to the Apple App Store could be interesting.

Thank you for the apology 🙏 I will be more transparent in the future ~~

Thanks @Baw$e ! I'll definitely look around.

Also, I was thinking it would be cool to have pets created by community at some point.
Ask me again in 2y later 😅 It will take a long time to build a platform. It's one step after another 🐾
