Not just petsites but sites in general, many sites, games, and applications are coming out with AI-generated code and/or artwork/assets. Most of these sites are created with Javascript and Tailwind. They use a lot of emojis / icons and their layouts are usually pretty bare bones, usually comprised of a table or various divs, its easy to spot just visually if the person making the site has done nothing to it. What is your opinion on these sites?

Personally I am unsure of how I feel about it at the moment. On one side, I can see how someone who doesn't know how to code or do art can live their dream by making a site of their own in this way but on the other hand, there's so much morally wrong with AI-generation in general, such as the harm to the environment and replacing coders/artists. One of my biggest concerns is the safety of the users that play on these sites, as a vibe-coder does not usually know how to read or understand code which can lead to many safety and backend issues.

I hate it. I wouldn't use or interact with a site that uses AI.
Pet sites especially makes me upset, since artwork is such an important factor in the identity of a site.

Even besides the ethical issues with AI- which ARE a big issue to me- the usage of it is so passionless and inhuman, even if you claim otherwise. In artwork, passion comes in the labor behind every drawing, the time dedicated to honing a skill and a style, the humanity of error and struggle. Sometimes the difficulty in depicting your own ideas contributes to the final product, giving it a unique style or voice (The works of the mangaka ONE being the first thing that comes to mind. With MP100 being a very atypical looking manga, but in many ways this enhances the work.)
You can be as passionate in your own mind as you want, but whatever AI shits out cannot ever truly express that.

On one side, I can see how someone who doesn't know how to code or do art can live their dream by making a site of their own in this way
I feel this only really works if you choose to ignore how many (free) resources there are for learning these things in the modern era. Theres nothing ChatGPT or whatever can do that you couldn't learn to do with enough effort.
I have focus issues, so I totally get that it's a struggle, but that struggle is important to. Doing is important.

Frankly speaking, I cannot even detected whether a site was custom coded, built on CMS or through an AI. I once tried AI website builder but gave up when I was asked to pay. I think AI generated sites are ok if they cater to the needs of their target audience.

AI-generated websites are useful for speed and low-cost setup, especially for simple projects. But they often feel generic and lack depth or originality. Best results come when humans still guide design, content, and purpose carefully.

I don't mind if a few images for the site were generated with AI, but if the entire site was built with AI assets then I'll definitely stay clear of it. Especially if it's a virtual pet site, because to me it's just not creative if you're using AI to make every single aspect of the site including sprites of the pets, items, etc. There's no soul behind it if it's all AI generated.
