Paid Email Service

Who uses a paid email service? Have you thought about it? What are some pros and cons of paid email?

Myself, I have started using a service for $3 a month because my free emails are swamped with junk (my fault, honestly) so I wanted a new email, and I figured pay was worth an experiment.

Questions:

• Would you delete emails to save storage in a paid or free email service?
• Would you keep getting email notifications from social media and forums or do you feel it clogs up your paid or free email?
• What would you pay for a paid service for each month or year?

I use a paid email with my hosting provider, but I don’t use it for forums or many other sites. I only allow a few things into my inbox, as I can set up a spam filter to block unwanted emails. I have two paid email accounts, one for personal use and the other for support-related matters.

For forums and other sites, I use two personal Gmail accounts. I prefer to keep my paid email for non-forum purposes, including social media accounts.

It actually works quite well, but it depends on your needs. If you want more control over your inbox and data, hosting email is a great option. Plus, if you run into issues, your hosting provider can offer direct support, which isn’t always the case with free email services.

I use the AWS email service paired with free Zoho, it works out pretty good.

I'm good with using free email service. Gmail works perfectly fine for me. I've heard about Proton Mail but never used it.

I don't use any paid email service but my friend does. But I know that it was a whole new world. He started using ProtonMail, which is really good for security. I think every bit of the $5/month subscription he pays is worth it for the comfort it provides.

Generally, it’s a lot better than some free email providers as you can use a custom domain name and brand your email account.

You can also filter your email from receiving certain things and set a spam filter on a scale level, so you don’t receive unwanted emails.

It’s easier and cheaper if you get it through a hosting provider.
