Would you play on a pet site where you had to pay points/in-game currency to travel to locations on the world map?

I like the approach of obtaining map pieces to explore a new land/map.

However, I think it’s a good idea to unlock a new map/land with points as it encourages users to work towards something.

I would play a pet site like this.

I think that's a bit of a turn-off for me. I'd rather explore the world map freely without having to pay points or pay in-game currency. It feels like it would limit my ability to discover new things and enjoy the game.

Would an adventure system be more up your alley? Aywas has one like this where you can explore and capture pets. Evarenity is also going to feature an adventure system.

If a pet site has many lands, I could see map pieces being a good approach for keeping the economy in tact.

It's a good approach which I would love to pay for. It's better than paying real money for it which will make such pet site a paid to win game. No gamer loves playing that kind of game.

What if you could dig for treasure maps? I think this could be an interesting feature. Especially if it's mixed in with a point sinking features as well. Some pet sites have treasure map features in place where you have to buy all the map pieces in order to access a certain map location, but I think it could been interesting if you could dig or capture treasure map pieces via a fishing feature or something similar. A digging feature or gathering feature could be another way to obtain map pieces.

However, completing the maps would still be accessible if you obtain all the map pieces as well.

Wouldn't it be too easy to just pay points and do this? It doesn't make it look interesting to me. I think it should have extra checks added to make it interesting.

Now, this is something I can at least agree with. Hunt for those maps and they will have to be a complete full map before you can travel with it.

I think a pet game that has map travel features would require a player to be more strategic in resource management. I think I would find this interesting and would pay for it. And even save to travel to some prestige destinations.

To be honest, I love this type of feature. Adding a treasure map feature would improve the gameplay mechanics and would allow players to travel the world in a more engaging way. Players can also earn map pieces through various activities, making it very rewarding activities.
