Ravalon has reached its second anniversary and is entering its third year. They've also introduced a new event to celebrate their birthday.

Here’s their official news post:
Hi everyone!
Things have been a bit slow here lately as July-August was the busiest period of the year for my business, but I’ve spent the past few weeks working on this update - as we’ve reached our 2nd anniversary! 🥳 This year we’ve got an event to celebrate it and unlock something new 👀

Event: the Murkwood Passage

All in Ravalon have heard of a hidden market, deep within the most mysterious nooks of the woods. A place where the sun’s rays never fully reach, and where the air is thick with secrets and the scent of ancient magic. Known as the black market, this place is said to hold treasures beyond imagination; artifacts that can alter one’s very being and potions brewed with the rarest ingredients. It’s not a place that can be found by chance however. It lies somewhere where the serenity of the deep forest slowly fades into the foreboding shadows of the dark woods. The exact location has long been a mystery for many, but now some have found scraps of a map that they believe holds the secret of the Murkwood Passage.

While exploring in any territory, each encounter will give you a 20% chance of finding a map piece. Collectively contribute these pieces to complete the map on the event page through 3 stages.

But the road to the black market is not as simple as following a map... A dense mist is always shrouding the pathway. This mist is no ordinary fog; it is a barrier, ancient and powerful, meant to keep all but the most determined at bay. To clear this mist, you must seek rare crystalline fragments: mistbane shards. With enough shards the mist will begin to fade, revealing the market, its dark tents and stalls appearing like shadows out of the fog.

Once the map has been completed, your next challenge will be to collectively gather enough mistbane shards on the event page.

Guarding the market is a mysterious rook, a dark bird with eyes that gleam with age and wisdom. This guardian, known as Falgryn, is the final barrier between you and the black market. Falgryn is not swayed by mere words or rubies; to earn his trust and prove your worthiness, you must gather specific offerings - rare herbs, enchanted stones, and more. For each of these offerings Falgryn will grant you one of his own feathers, a sign of his growing trust. Only when you have earned 6 of these feathers, Falgryn will allow you to trade with the market’s secretive vendors to purchase mutations; potions and artifacts that can alter one’s appearance in both wondrous and terrifying ways.

Gaining Falgryn’s trust will be an individual task you need to complete to be able to buy mutations, and this step will remain permanently in the game for future players as well.

And so, the journey begins. The map must be pieced together, the mist dispelled, and the trust of Falgryn earned. The black market waits, its treasures just beyond reach, in the shadowed depths of the Murkwood Passage. Will you unlock its secrets?

The next 3 days you’ll only be finding map pieces, just to give you a bit of a head start on completing the map - after that, you’ll also have a chance of getting mistbane shards. Once the map has been completed, you’ll only find shards anymore.

Once the mist has been fully cleared, the following rewards will be awarded to everyone who contributed…
◼️ 20 to 40 items: 1x Murkwood Passage background
◼️ 41 to 80 items: 2x Murkwood Passage background + 1x Astral Lake background
◼️ 80+ items: 3x Murkwood Passage background + 1x Astral Lake background + 1x Draquorin Elixir

The Murkwood Passage background is also (permanently) available at Revyn’s shop.

After the mist has been cleared, a new update will be posted with all information about Falgryn’s tasks/his page and how mutations work exactly. Note that I will do this manually though (awarding the contribution rewards as well), so it will not happen the second the mist clearing has been completed - but certainly sometime that same day!

Anniversary items
Last year’s anniversary background, Dragon’s Land, is available at Revyn’s shop again.

This year’s anniversary background is Astral Lake - every player has been gifted 2 copies of this background!

Revyn also has last year’s anniversary decorations available:

Instead of a decoration, this year’s anniversary item is a mutation named Draquorin Elixir - everyone will receive 2 free once the mist has been cleared, but it’s a little surprise until then what it looks like! 😁
