A first of its kind robot-operated store is now open in SoCal.

What are your thoughts on this newly released store that’s operated by robots?

Was always going to happen, not sure what we will do once all stores have this.

It's a brilliant Innovation! It lets you place an order for whatever you want to have from the app, and a robot retrieves those items. It's like a vending machine but this one is of high-tech.

It's a good move for the store owner, but not so much for workers. Especially the day we start seeing robots replace regular humans in grocery stores in the like.

It's a start of something and not a great thing.

Here in out town, we have Robot operated restaurant. The only human staff are the manager and kitchen staff, robots clean and serve. They say they are also switching to robot chef.

It is a significant advancement but I am afraid of jobs getting eroded. There is no doubt that this type of development will diminish the livelihood of the many more I can imagine in my head.

I just hope that this deployment of robots in the store would bring the store the much needed efficiency and cost savings that is always associated with deploying robots to work.

Not all people feel confident when they deal with robots, especially the older generations. It may take a long time until this feels normal to people.

When I first saw this on YouTube, it wowed me. But for me, it would be so weird to shop there. People will definitely miss talking to a cashier. It will take time for people to adjust to this.
