Sequels that outdid the original

The default assumption is sequels are usually always worse than their original. What's a movie you've watched where you truly think the sequel outdid the original and why?

One of the sequels that was better than the original is The Godfather II. The Dark Knight was also better than Batman Begins. I also liked Terminator 2 better than the original.

John Wick: Chapter 4 was the best amongst the previous 3 movies. Dune: Part Two was miles better than the first movie as we wait for part 3 on 18th December 2026.
