Should there be a cap on the max level for pets on virtual pet sites? What max level cap would you recommend?

I don’t think there should be a max level cap for pets on virtual pet sites, especially if battling is a feature. An unlimited leveling system gives users long-term goals, like reaching levels 1,000 or 2,000, which adds depth and motivation to gameplay.

Also, high-level pets can create a dynamic player-driven economy. For example, players could lend out strong pets for battles (if the site allows it), fostering trade and interaction within the community. This kind of system encourages users to keep coming back to the site.

However, to maintain balance, the leveling system should integrate with other stats. For instance, a pet’s level could determine the maximum values for stats like strength or speed. A system where a Level 10 pet has stat caps of 21 (as an example) could ensure that progression is meaningful and tied to the pet’s overall development. This approach would make training and leveling more strategic and rewarding

I think so, would be too hard to keep coding them levels and making sure nothing breaks when they reached an extreme high level.
