What do you think about the software? Have you used it as an owner or user? What themes and mods do you like for it? How would you compare it to other software?

Myself, I would like to note that it has an uploader for themes, mods, and one-click updating. I'm not sure if it has an avatar resizer. Anyone know? I know that phpBB does not.

Anyway, having all this one-step stuff is an advantage for newbies and it makes things faster for the more experienced.

I used SMF over 10 years ago as an admin, but I haven’t used the software since.

It has come a long way since then, though. It was a lot easier to install than phpBB, and the core software is better as well.

phpBB hasn’t advanced much since its launch. It mainly relies on third-party add-ons.

I learned that SMF simple user interface proved essential for a beginner. The ability to easily customize my forum through the theme and mod uploader makes it simple to use. The speed performance of SMF interests me when compared to phpBB and vBulletin software solutions.

I have a forum on SMF. I really like this software because you can do a lot of things through the dashboard. It is easy to use and also has a great appearance.

vBulletin and phpbb aren’t slow out of the box. The software depends on your server setup if it’ll be slow or not. SMF is designed more for beginners than PHPBB though.

There isn’t too much of a speed difference among the software, however, Xenforo is a lot faster than vBulletin.

I've used SMF before and I love the ease of use and the countless options of customization available. Allowing updates in one-click and uploading themes and mods make it much swifter in terms of site management.
