Skype has shut down after 22 years

Haha same here, I never really used Skype much either. I remember trying it once for a group chat but it was kind of clunky. Zoom came along and everyone just moved there.

I'm not sad that I didn't, it was the era that I was still younger. I've make use of Zoom as many times that I wanted and I'm enjoying it.

Zoom really took over, especially during the pandemic. I used Skype a lot back in school days to chat with friends overseas, so seeing it shut down feels like I would miss something very special.

Even though Skype was a part of our tech revolution as people, it is like everyone dumped the app to other alternatives. Maybe it was because Microsoft didn't pay attention to upgrade it. Everyone left and it had to close down.

Same here, I don’t really miss it. I only used Skype for one school project ages ago. Zoom just feels smoother and a lot easier, especially for big groups.

It's very easier and productive not only to companies but to individuals too. I've used it to learn many things online especially teaching.

I don't have friends that are overseas. My friends are both in my community or street so we don't have any reason to use Skype then.

Makes sense. Back then, Skype was more for people chatting overseas, I think. I barely used it too. Most of my friends were nearby, so we just hung out instead. These days, it’s all WhatsApp or Zoom anyway. It's still funny how big Skype used to be and now it’s just gone.

I don't have people that are living overseas when Skype is the only medium to speak to them but now, many friends and family are there and I can speak through WhatsApp or Zoom.
